Off topic, I've been watching your Asahi Pentax book on Ebay....a SENSATIONAL book for any Pentax enthusiast.....I've got a signed copy myself!...Good luck with your sale.
You're in Budapest, I'm in Melbourne....isn't it amazing how we can talk to each other?!
Regards, Pickles.

Thank you ! Great book, Internet is a great thing indeed. It is always interesting what other people think in a different country not only from photography of course.

I'd say my favorite manual focus lenses are:

Nikkor ED 50-300mm f4.5
Nikkor 35-200mm f3.5
Nikkor 50-135mm f3.5
Nikkor 20mm f3.5

If I can throw in an autofocus, I'd say the cheap Nikkor 18-55mm.

Oh, C'mon! This is the easy way out.
Even if your lenses are changing with your mood, you surely have a mood you're often in. So you can list some lenses you use regularly. Wink

Zenitar-M 16mm f/2.8
Zeiss Contax Distagon 18mm f/4
Zeiss Jena Flektogon 20mm f/4

I think I covered all the prime focal lenghts I have, I hope I did not forget any. In some focal lenghts I had to sacrifice some lenses like the MIR-24N or the Makro-Sonnar 100mm that I actually use frequently.

I think you would be suprised by how little I did pay many of those lenses.
For instance, who could think possible to buy a Hollywood Distagon for 180 Euros? And yet that is what I did.
And I paid a Distagon 35/1.4 something around 300 Euros... today the lens is worth about 1000 in the used market.
I was lucky, but I also was timely. I bought many of those lenses when they were not so known like they are now.

I don't care how much you had to pay, Orio, because that would be your decision anyway. But I really, really think that your collection is one of the most fascinating ones I have ever read about. It is not only of high quality, it is also very well chosen!! That's a huge WOW!

Orio should post a pic of lens collection and make us all more envious. Smile

Here is my lenses hall of fame:

Rollei F-Distagon 16/2.8
Contax Zeiss Distagon 21/2.8
Leica Elmarit-R 28/2.8 2nd version
Contax Zeiss Distagon 35/1.4
Leica Summilux-R 50/1.4 E60
Helios 40 85/1.5 early batch
Contax Zeiss Planar 85/1.2

In zoom range Contax 35-70 and 28-85 or Leica R 35-70 f/4 or f/3.5 E67 all have top IQ but I use Contax N 24-85 (sorry, not a MF lens).

Hmm. And I thought *I* had a lot of lenses. Turns out, I don't. Too bad I can't convince the wife of that.

My list? Much shorter than most, and very Nikon oriented, since the only camera bodies I use now are Nikon. However, I will include a few favorites I no longer own, but immensely enjoyed using.

Ultra-wide
Nikkor 20/3.5 UD (factory Ai'd)
Wide
Nikkor 28/2.0 Ai
Asahi Super-Takumar 35/3.5
Normal
Asahi Super-Takumar 50/1.4
Nikkor 50/1.8 Ais
Nikkor 50/1.2 Ai (for subject under 15 feet away)
Short tele
Nikkor 105/2.5 Ais
Med tele
Asahi Super-Takumar 135/3.5
Asahi Super-Takumar 200/4
Long tele
Nikkor 300/4.5 Ais IF ED
Super tele
MC 3M-5AC 500/8 (hard to use well. Easy to carry)

Zooms
Nikkor 25-50/4 Ais
Nikon 75-150/3.5 Series E
I considered listing my recently acquired Tokina 150-500/5.6, but the thought of carrying it anywhere was too tiring.

Bellows lenses
Rodenstock 75/4 APO Rodagon
El Nikkor 105/5.6 N
Schneider Componon-S 135/5.6
