It seems to lack that "special thing" that the other Tessars have. I don't know why. Perhaps the 2.8 aperture was a too wide one for the lens model. The Contax 2.8/45 is great but we know that Oberkochen could use better materials and also it's a much younger lens.

The Tessar 40/4.5 is an amazing lens and one that better creates that elusive "tridimensional" look.
