I need to sell one of my two Vario-Sonnar 3.5/40-80 zoom lenses.
Marketplace link:

http://www.mflenses.com/mfl-ebay/Carl-Zeiss-Vario-Sonnar-3.5-40-80-T-Contax.html

It is the very same copy used to take the photos in this series:

Info is in the ad. The price is 240 Eur but if you pay with bank transfer I will make it 230.

Please see this sample image. First whole image then 100% crop.
This image was taken with the very same lens that is now for sale:

I put this lens for sale again:

http://www.mflenses.com/mfl-ebay/Carl-Zeiss-Vario-Sonnar-3.5-40-80-T-Contax.html

With a new low price of 210 Euros (only 200 Euros if you pay with bank transfer).

You find an accurate description of the lens in the marketplace ad. The lens has some little shortcomings, but it's functionally excellent. It's not famous as other Contax lenses, but I grant you it delivers fantastic images, with that true "Zeiss prime lens fingerprint" that other Contax zooms, albeit excellent, do not have.
I have used it for landscapes and in studio for glamour shots always with total satisfaction. You can search this forum galleries for my images with this lens, all the images that I posted have been taken with this very same copy of the lens that I am selling now.

Last call for this marketplace. If unsold, it will go to Ebay on Sunday.

New low price: 170 Euros + shipping
please read description, the lens has a few issues (that don't affect image quality at all, but I want buyer to be informed)
it is practically given away. I have seen one copy of this lens which was sold for approx. the same price, and it had scratches over the glass!
This is commonly a 300-350 Euros lens.
Please look at the current offerings on Ebay:

"best of lenses" page with samples - all taken with the same copy of the lens that I am selling now:
http://forum.mflenses.com/carl-zeiss-vario-sonnar-t-3-5-40-80-contax-cy-t39053,highlight,%2Bcontax.html

If I don't sell this lens now, I will give up understanding lens buyers at all.

(especially those that keep complaining "I wish for a Contax lens but sellers are greedy speculators!" Rolling Eyes )

Since I had the chance to try that lens, exactly that copy!, I can confirm that it is a fantastic lens - and a bargain as well!
Guys, go for it!

A very good price. Cheap I mean.
A Contax 50/1.7 is more expensive than this one.

I have sold the lens to a wise member of the forum, my thanks to him for the purchase.
I have the lens in my hand now, to organize the packaging. Being the seller, I shouldn't be the one to say this, but the buyer has made an incredible bargain, and he will realize it when he has the lens in his hands. A handful of metal and great glass (670 grams for a 10 cms lens!) in professional finish.
The other members of the forum... have really lost an occasion. Rolling Eyes
But I am happy that the lens will go to one of us!
