The 35/1.8G AF-S DX Nikkor almost draws a full sensor, and I think the design philosophy is one to design an "almost" full frame lens so that the end result is a lens that on DX suffers from no problems with vignetting or low detail/contrast at widest apertures. In other words, the design team created a lens which cropped out the areas usually lowering overall IQ on a 50mm perspective lens.

The price for a new one is a bargain, and getting one for 130 EUR is a steal. For that 50mm perspective, this is probably one of (if not the) best price/quality ratios you can get, if you are using a Nikon F-mount DSLR.

Great shots!

This lens has a very good reputatation and I would love to have one for my D1.
But since I do no invest in any lens for the D1 (it's just too old and not really worth it), I won't buy one.
If I had a D2x, I would definitely own that 1.8/35!

Very nice. And a very cheap price.

I got mine for 22,000 yen (about 180 euro) last year. It's the only autofocus lens I use regularly.

Great lens ! Don't they have it also in Canon fit ? Laughing
I like your shots ! Are you going to keep the Sigma 30/1.4 ?

I'm undecided.
At the moment i keep both.
Both have their pros and cons.
