Not yet. But now I have the 85/1.9, I've almost all 85mm Takumar (yes, I lack the 83/1.9 and the achromatic's), I'll compare them, I only need time Razz

Today's win : SMC Takumar 50/1.4 (with this f***ing rubberised focus ring), 57€ without shipping. But with free Super Takumar 28/3.5 and S-M-C 135/3.5 Twisted Evil

Apologies again for hijacking your thread CarbonR, but the book arrived earlier this week...oh man, it's even better than I had hoped for. Don't know about others copies, but this one is a first-edition copy(then again, perhaps there was only one edition), and it's immaculate. Thank you Germany!!!

BTW: I finally have unearthed Gerjan van Oosten's book yesterday. It's been in a box for 3 years, and it's refreshing to re-read his book now that I have a bit more knowledge on the subject.

By the way, have you already located a 55mm (f/1.8 I believe) Auto-Takumar with on the diaphragm ring white dots between the f/stops? I should take a photo of it and post it here if you don't know what I mean. It's the Auto-Takumar with Super-Takumar diaphragm actuation.

I have a second Ultra-Achromatic Takumar 85mm (of the about 20 or so known to exist...) just in case...but it is a "little bit" more than your recent 50/1.4 win.... Wink Wink

It is one of the sharpest I've seen so far, esp. also that UA Tak 300mm and both are apochromatic form ultraviolet to infrared, 200-1100nm for the 85mm - show me another lens capable of that ...!!

Quartz Takumar is the older and -even- much rarer version than the UA 85mm, increadibly complicated to use because of NOT being focus corrected!! No wonder it was just sold for about a year or so and then replöaced by the much better UA 85mm.

BTW, what A-K Takumar have you won? You say "V2" and to my knowledge that's the middle version with the silver lens beauty ring (the standard lens of the Asahiflex IA). I'm glad to have all three and the 58/2.4 as well Twisted Evil

Hi,

here my little Takumar collection. When I look around it seems that there are a lot of lenses which I have to look for within the next months. Shocked

At the moment I believe that the prices increase every day. Yesterday at Eb.... a SMC 1.4/50 for approx. 100 €, or is this ok ?



My favorites are the f:4 and f:5.6 200mm lenses.

Well, it's my personal belief that good Takumars will never get cheap again. At least not on eBay c.s. It's just a matter of time before people realize the superb optical and mechanical quality of the Takumars and early K-mount lenses. K-mount lenses are currently more expensive than their M-series counterparts.

While the old lenses can be used in new digital bodies, prices of the good ones will be up.
