Unfortunately the infinity setting of the lens isn't correct. I only noticed it after taking some nice landscapes. I'll try to fix it as soon as possible Smile

butterflies (no edit, no crop, f/4):

mushroom (after one click on 'auto levels' in Aperture):

leaf (after one click on 'auto levels' in Aperture):

some lens flare:

How is this different from Jupiter 11 Auto?

Does auto one fit Canon 5D?

AFAIK, the Jupiter-11 and Jupiter-11A are completely different optical designs and the 11A is the best. Being an automatic lens also means a simpler diaphragm (because it has to open/close very quickly), causing less natural bokeh.

It's a standard m42 lens, so it will fit on every modern dSLR with the right adapter, but you need to keep in mind that the lens either needs to have an auto/manual switch or your EOS->m42 adapter needs to have a mechanism for closing the aperture.

This weekend I was at a festival as a photographer and used mainly my Jupiter-11A (I took it with me "just for fun"). The sharpness... the contrast... It's amazing! Look at this picture (click for original):

Perfect! Not only the lens, but the picture itself. Nice colors, perfect moment and composition.

It was one of those shots... Main stage opens, band is presented, band enters the stage, singer grabs the microphone, I grab my camera, take one shot, view it, and think: Okay. That's the shot I needed. I can go home now.

one more shot. It was a test shot, just to check my camera's settings while a sponsor was presented. Don't care about the composition and stuff, just look at the details and the sharpness...

I guess I took it at f/5.6, maybe f/8. Unedited.

the rest of the pics is on http://www.ccmplanet.com , but resized to 500x500px so you can't really see the quality of the lens (all Pentax K200d pics are made with the Jupiter, my *ist DL had a SMC Pentax-F 50mm f/1.7, which doesn't impress me much compared to my Jupiter)

Wow. You can see the audience reflected in her bangle. Excellent shot.
