They are. After opening some, I love the design. To me these cameras are far better (and simpler) than any other camera I've seen the inside.
The EXA engineers took the clever decission of moving the curtains from top to down instead of left to right as commonly done. That means the curtain has to travel only 24mm instead of 36mm to fully expose a shot. So mechanics can be simpler and more reliable....
Also the fact that all the screws are RH makes things easier.

This is my seventh EXA, (taking into account the original EXA that Attila sent me to fix), and all models are great. A lot of work in the way but I'm learning a lot from them.

Congrats, Jes! Hope you can get one up and running! I still haven't shot a
thing with the two I have, here's a pic of a mint condition (new cloth shutters
and CLA):

Not pictured is an old red hardbound book on Exakta cameras plus a bellows.

And I have the Exakta 500, too, that I need to take out for a spin.

Thanks Poilu, I didn't have any feedback on this seller. I saw 99.9% of positive feedback and accepting Paypal, so I did bid. Nice to know it's a good seller, I'll tell you when the camera arrives if I keep or not the opinion about it. Wink
