I haven't tested mine yet, but they feel really nice when I look in the camera with them, I've got the ML 35mm/2.8 and ML 50mm/2, waiting for a DX 50mm/1.7 in the mail.
Poolhall sent me the ML 50mm for free, really generous _________________ Retrocamera.net |

Watch out for the exposure counter not working its about the only thing that goes wrong with the FR series. Apparently its a nylon cog that comes off ,its happenend on my FR2. Apart from that they are excellent cameras, hope you get it. |

Mine too, I just noticed. So I stuck a little papernote on the back on the memoholder (funny detail), so I can take a note how many pictures I've taken. _________________ Retrocamera.net |

The FR series is (was) wonderful! I had the privelege of shooting with an FR-1 years ago, and the one thing I remember was the "feel" of the shutter release button - smooth, solid, and "feathery"... _________________

Sounds scarry
Soon I'm of to fetch my new J-7 wth DX 50mm/1.7 m42.
Still waiting to get the adapter shipped from china to try the lens you sent me on digital - but I've tried it on the FR-II and it feels very nice. Seems to be very good buildquality on the Yashica-lenses. _________________ Retrocamera.net |

On my FR-1 (have it for some moths now) the exposure counter doesn't work also. It counts to 18 or so, but the film is already at the end. Not a big problem, just advance the film an when it does not move easily, it is at the end. No doubt. My cam seems to be not so much used by the former owners, even the leatherette coating is like new. But that mirror damping foam is overaged, it comes down in nasty little pieces of black material, sticks on the mirror....or walks somewhere into the camera body...i have to replace that soon. Everything else is just fine.
