Thank you for sharing these pictures. Perfect.
I ordered few days ago at Leitax few bayonets for Leica > Nikon and I was unsure whether I should convert my 8/500 too. Normally I use it with a Canon body.
But now I´m sure that I will convert this lens too. Many thanks again.

Thanks guys for your nice words ..
@ my_photography: I also don't know yet why are the donuts more or less visible! I have to practice more but I think when the background is darker (in the shadow for example) and not to busy, then the donuts are almost invisible...and also for very closed-up I guess....
@Rolf: thanks to your pictures made with this lens, I decided to take a look on this lens ...It works perfect in combination with the D700, the very good viewfinder and the high iso capacity of this cam help a lot of course…..This lens is unfortunately very expensive (at least on e-bay!) and I was not ready to pay so much money for a mirror lens....but I was lucky and I found this one witch is in mint condition and complete with all accessories (case, filters, box, etc..) for 400€ inc shipping and inc leitax Nikon mount....It's not cheap and more than two or three times more expensive than the excellent Tamron, but it's the price you have to pay I guess for Leica brand .....One thing who surprised me is that this lens is made in Japan and I always thought than Leica was made in Germany or Canada????!!!!!!
Anyway, I'm very happy with the first results and this lens will be for sure in my bag for my vacation (that's why I bought it actualy) ...
@ spotmatic: yes, this lens can for sure make your mind change about mirror lens.....and Thanks to you for your help to purchase this lens |

You got this lens with 400,00 € (including Leitax bayount which is worth at the end incl. VAT/shipping around 90 €) very very very cheap.
This lens is an old Minolta calculation and was built by Minolta for Leica. They didn´t produce all of their lenses by themselves.
Fine that I could give you an inspiration for this lens. I belive too that this lens will work with the D700 not worser than with the Canon.

If you compare this mirror with others you will know why it is so expensive. It isn´t only the name Leica. The IQ is much better than with other mirrors ( I own 7 or 8 different types - so I hope that I can make this statement)
There is only another mirror I know (and own) which plays in the "same" league - that is the Olympus mirror. This lens is a little bit cheaper than the Leica lens.

May be cheap but expensive enough for a mirror lens I think.....
And 90€ for the adapter is also stupidly too expensive ....it's a simple bayonet with 5 screws, nothing more .........

Not a "real" LEICA then ...... |

I've owned a Tamron adaptall (also very very good) and a Vivitar series 1 8/600mm (not so good as the tamron and much heavyer!) and the Leica has for sure a better IQ, but on the other hands, that's the minimum you can expect from a such expensive lens I think ....
What about the original Minolta mirror lens then???? |
