I really do hope so Mal! I've just checked my PayPal records. I got an email from PayPal saying that Rocky shipped out my 3 items on April 27th...that's almost a month already! And when I email him asking for the ETA of the items, or if there's a tracking number, his replies are kinda vague...if he replies at all. In his latest mail to me, he said it'd take 2 weeks. Well, it's already been over that. |

Yes, I'm based in Malaysia. Which is quite a long ways away. However, I did receive a Spotmatic SP500 that I bought off eBay from Sheffield, UK which arrived in about a week and a half. The seller sent it to me via Airsure, signed for. Yeah, i know ole Rocky has lots of + feedback too..oh God I just hope this works out okay. It's almost a month already..and one of the items he's 'supposedly' sending me is a Voigtlander Vitomatic IIa, which I paid a lot for! At this rate, I'll be glad to just have the items arrive...nevermind if they're as advertised or not. |

I know of at least two cases in which he did not ship and then claimed he had. In neither case was he able to provide any evidence that he had shipped. This scum is capable of virtually anything.

Guys! Help! It's been 11 days since I won that C/Y lens for my FX3 from Rocky, and I of course, have not paid him yet. My PayPal account is ok now, but I'm really hesitant to pay for this lens since my previous 3 items are god-knows-where. I'm afraid Rocky will insist on me paying for this C/Y lens soon, or else he will label me as a non-paying bidder and slap me with a -ve feedback. So...what should I do? Should I pay for the C/Y lens and just hope for the best? Or just hold out for another week or two, at least until my previous package arrives (if it does at all!)...would appreciate your advice. Thanks! |

Sellers can no longer even vote negative. All protection is for the buyers, so just ask paypal for your money after you've waited for a reasonable period of time. Of course talk to the seller first... |

Ok, I just 'communicated' with our dear Rocky. I didn't mention about the C/Y lens I won recently, I asked about my previous 3 items, and how it's been so late..almost a month and still no sign of them. I said that I am getting nervous and worried, cuz he told me it'd only take 2 weeks for it to arrive here. I also asked him did he ship my items via AirMail or surface, and if there's any tracking number. So...without further ado, here's his reply:
"Dear daniirwan,
Dear Bidder,no tracking as no insurance paid for and yes should be with you by now so if you wish I shall show my honesty by refunding in full and you can reverse upon receipt if they turn up
Rocky
- ferndowncameras"
Notice that as per usual, he didn't reply my question regarding his shipment method...he didn't mention either AirMail or Surface Mail at all.
What do u guys think? Should I take him up on his offer for a refund now? Or should I wait until next week, i.e the end of May in the hope that the items will arrive before I ask him to refund me? I'll be away from home from tomorrow until Friday the 29th of May anyway.

Obviously get the refund. I've never interacted with this guy directly, but any seller that would say something like that, when he himself claims the shipment can't be tracked, probably did not ship it -- why else would they risk the buyer getting away with getting both the item and money back?
If the item arrives after you get the refund (doubtful), then you can decide what you want to do at that point. _________________ Sony α7R, Pentax 67II, Kiev-60, Hasselblad 203FE, 903SWC, Graflex Norita 66, Mamiya M645 1000s, Burke & James 8x10, Graflex Pacemaker Speed Graphic (4x5 and 3x4), Century Graphic (2x3), R.B. I'll third the guys sentiments about accepting the refund - seems unlikely he bothered to ship the items at all.
And it's not exactly confidence-inspiring to have the offer of a full refund thrown at you - he's very obviously trying to minimise the number of neutral and negative feedbacks he's getting.
To have 8 Negative and 7 Neutral feedbacks and an overall rating of 99.6% after only registering in February is - quite frankly - a disgrace... _________________

As a side note, you only get full tracking via Royal Mail from the UK if you take the "Airsure" option. Unfortunately this is only available for a few destinations. "Signed For" is tracked in the UK only.
BUT...all packages are covered for at least £39.00 from the UK. _________________ Graham - Moderator

Ignore his suggestions about positive feedback/ in fact you have to give a negative one, cause you lost 3 perfect item prices. Nobody sends items before the payment, so do not expect delivery[for the 3 items].
Cancel the new item that you won or if you want it too much, tell him that you want to pay +insurance [by pal] so ask him to send you new payment request.
That's my thoughts, may be I am wrong. These would be my actions if I was in your shoes. _________________ My flickr___ My Wix___ RailPictures |

My opinion?
Leave negative feedback.

Got stung too, although I still got a usable lens. But like all his other listings is was described as optically perfect. Actually the lens got some haze on the outer side of the lens. Using it on an APS-C camera wouldn't impair the image quality too much, but still the lens is not a described.
He offers me to send back the lens and a refund, but I'm hesistant to send it back. I asked for a partial refund but go no answer to my last message. Since he offers a refund I don't think negative feedback is in place, although I'm reluctant of sending the lens back, waiting for my refund and buying a new lens. I guess I will go on using this lens and won't buy any more items from his Ebay-store. |

Thanks. I will go on using the lens, too much hassle to send it back and await my refund. Tested the lens and I don't see softness in the corners where I would expect it considering the haze on the lens. |
