I do not know where to post, so it is here. Very Happy
Click here to see on Ebay

I have already ordered one. Cool

This should be moved to "market place" me thinks.

For that thing I have waited 10 years Shocked

Ordered one adapter too.

Tried out the focus screw at my 90mm Sonnar with a screwdriver - 4,5 complete turns from end to end. Thats not too much for the focus wheel at the adapter. Not a quick focus solution but I´m sure it is suitable.

Wink

Sad
Quote:
1) current version fits G35, G45, G90 only and does allow infinity focus (does not fit G21, G28, G35-70, due to large rear protrusion, will make later a 'thicker' version which will fit them, but most likely they will not be able to focus to infinity though)

Do not listen those rumour/maker's story Sandy, see the second row of >
http://www.pbase.com/kkawakami/inbox

Actually I am pretty sure that you can use G-Biogon 28mm too,
and possibly G-Hologon too (this one I have to check more).

G-Biogon 21's rear protruding is 18.3 mm and diameter of the rear block is 23.5 mm
G-Biogon 28's rear protruding is 17.0 mm and diameter of the rear block is 24.0 mm

I may (prefer to) convert G-Hologon to M-mount one someday, not too difficult to me.

G-Hologon 16's rear protruding is 22.2 mm and diameter of the rear block is 24.0 mm

These figures are measured without rear block protector, which should be removed
in order to use on GF1 with appropriate adaptor.

G-mount's flange distance is 29 mm, so there is enough space between the rear
element of those lenses including G-Hologon and micro 4/3 censor. I am not sure
though how G-Hologon performs on GF1, G-Biogon 21 mm works fine, I suspect
G-Biogon 28 mm works fine too (HOPEFULLY).

Ah I see you did your own experiment Wink

BTW
Koji you are a brave man Laughing I could not touch this lens with any tools. Wink

Hehehe

I am more a tinkerer than a photographer. Wink

I have done more tests for WA lenses with Pana's GF1,
the results are not good for corners.

It means you better stick to Pana or Oly's WA lenses. Shocked

he rj adapter for the ep-1 is a welcome device , the focus wheel is so tiny and recessed , it makes focus slow and near impossible with the ep-1 case attached , here is a modification i did to help matters

i doubles focus speed across the range , and offers a sured finger "hold"
making focus alot easier ,

here is a post explaining more

There is new one with "focus ring" G->m4/3 adapter, which was on eBay
briefly. It looks very nicely made and probably very easy to use G-lens,
I saw it in "you tube" but forgot its title sorry.

Hi Wilson,

I am interested in the adapter too. Where can I buy it? Please keep us updated on your finding. BTW I was from Hong Kong too. Smile

I'm getting mine from Alex (hk300) who's on this board. Will see what the adapter looks like and if there's a newer version like Koji mentioned which I think would be easier to use. Will ask him to see if his suppliers can provide the new version as well.

After the delay in meeting Alex over the weekend, I picked up the adapter today.

Here are some photos if it on my GF-1 with the Contax G Planar 45/2.0

This is the earlier direct drive (un-geared) as it takes a little over 4 turns to get from infinity to closest focus on the little knurled ring. Actually it focuses slightly beyond infinity a bit but it's not a major problem with the manual focus on the GF-1.

It's a really foggy day here in HK with viz <1000m so not great for test shots, next nice day will take some.

Koji my master! Have you managed to remove the protector of the rear block on the 21mm or Hologon? I've tried the 21mm with the adapter, the lens fits ok on the adapter, but there's not enough room in the GF-1 body to take up the protectors.

I tried my 21 Biogon from a Contax RF and after taking the rear block protector off, it mounts with my Contax RF -> LTM -> M-mount - m4/3 Wink

PostPosted: Mon Mar 01, 2010 3:32 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

No, wilson. I have not removed G-Biogon 21mm's rear protector, nor
Holgon's. My G-biogon 21mm has been modified to M-mount, so regular
M->m4/3 adapter works, and my plan for Hologon is to convert M-mount.

But I am not sure of IQ of Hologon 16mm, Biogon 28mm, but I know
Biogon 21mm's result with GF1. It is not bad after F4 with square format,
after F5.6 you can use a regular format without too much worry for
corner performance, though you may have to go down to F8~11 to get
sharp corners. But G-Biogon 21mm is basically usable if you are not
too concerned about its corner performance IMO.

I have some doubt about G-Biogon 28mm, this lens is slightly deeper
rear element than G-Biogon 21mm's. I have not removed its rear protector
so I cannot comment its IQ with GF1.

But Hologon 16mm has some hope, it works with M8 well according to some
examples on the internet. But GF1 has anti-alious(sp?) filter, and no micro
lenses like M8's. So the outcome with Pana's GF1 is unknown, and I have
not seen the examples from this combination.

Thanks Wilson for the update. I was hoping that Alex will make an adapter like this:

http://bdyoutube.com/profile/riaphoto/videos/

That would be perfect!

thanks for your assistance

There were two sold on e-bay, seems to be prototype.

The price is a bit high though, but operations seems to be much more natural than the other ones...
