Cambron (Kawanon) 35mm F/2.8. This shot isn't a demonstration of my ability to compse a beautiful shot, more a test shot revealing outright strange behaviour in the out of focus area. In the center behind the focus point there's a distinct swirl which doesn't reach to the edges of the image. It almost looks like one of those Helios-44 shots where someone reversed an element. But, for this lens, you can actually stop it down and get a reasonable (by third party standards or the time) landscape shot if you want one. It's almost as if they added an element or improved an old design somehow to give a flatter field, but it results in this strange behaviour at minimum focus with open aperture. |

Tell me what you mean by "pocketable" and I will make some suggestions. One of my favorites is the Aires Coral 4.5cm f1.5, which is very small.

I like a lot the weird bokeh from your Coral.
It can be rather debatable, but I would define pocketable for a6000, as limited to ~45mm total length to the Sony E mount.
I'd rather prefer it to be 40mm tops, but with some awkward wiggling 50mm is doable too.
My two current pocket lenses are Zuiko 38/1.8, 40mm in total length and Meike 28mm F2.8, scoring excellent 24mm.
Since I've mentioned Meike, some bokeh-shots are in order:

Since you are on crop frame, I recommend a little 35mm f1.7 Fujian C mount Chinese lens, that usually sells for $20-30.

If you have some mechanical skills, and can find a Lord 5D camera, you can remove the Okaya Highkor 40mm f1.9 lens and adapt it.

Really tiny, about the size of the tip of one's thumb, is the Ross Cine 1 inch f1.9 lens, that covers crop.

Does 35mm on crop have vignetting? I have a soligor 50mm C mount that vignettes slightly on a sony aps-c.
Thanks. |

No vignetting with this lens on APSC. It's not so much a question of focal length but image circle. _________________ Vintage lens aficionado |

I checked and found out this Fujian 35mm, although a cctv lens, works for m43 and aps-c. My soligor 50mm is an acient c mount
for cctv. That's probably why the image circle is designed differently. |
