The ones I have and like the most so far are listed below.

Pentax Super Takumar 28mm/3.5 (very sharp, saturated)
Pentax Super Takumar 35mm/3.5 (dreamy soft, saturated)
Pentax S-M-C Takumar 55mm/1.8 (fantastic, sharp... on of my favorites)
Pentax Super Takumar 135mm/3.5 (great feeling, I need to test more)

Carl Zeiss aus Jena Sonnar 135mm/3.5 (sharp and nice colours)

Helios 44-3 58mm/2 (good quality, preset Helios from BeLOMO)

Yashica ML 35mm/2.8
Yashica ML 50mm/2
(both of these MLs are sharp and very nice, the 50mm is increibly small)

Yashica DX 50mm/1.7
(M42 yashica, older and came with the J-7 SLR, it has personality for sure, see my black and white on TriX, heavy feeling)

Canon EF 50mm/1.8 II (AF, plastic, really cheap, but sharp and good images.. crappy manual focus ring though)

Don't you mean 3.5/135 (the zebra version)?

I have decided to concentrate on Pentax and Yashica from now on. My only problem at the moment is that me next DSLR will be a Pentax and there is no C/Y-adapter, but in the other hand I can keep my Canon EOS 350D and EOS 300V and my Yashica film-cameras. But thats in the future, when other bills are payed Wink

Its not too heavy, it has reasonable contrast, its well made and its bokeh is'nt too bad either...But the best bit is its low price, which will save you hundreds over the price of a used Nikon 135mm f2.
The only downside is that its not too hot WO.

What would be the advantage over a Nikkor 135mm f/2.8 ? If its only being used from f/4 onwards ....

A lot of good glass on this thread. Let me add some lenses (I will only mention 35mm lenses, no MF or LF glass):

Asahi Pentax:
Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 85/1.8
SMC-Takumar 100/4 Macro

Cosina/Voigtländer:
Apo-Lanthar 125/2.5 Macro
Apo-Lanthar 180/4 Close Focus

Cheers!

I used only at evening ceremony, distance required 135mm lens at least. Available light was low I couldn't use f4 or f2.8 only wide open.If I don't have this lens I couldn't make any photos there.

ATTILA.

Is it better than the canon and the leitz?

If it is, I will quickly look for a K camera and this lens!!!!!

I really want to have an excelent 1,2 normal.

Rino.

I never equipped for Canon and I have only one Leica Macro lens, so I don't know. I can compare only with Nikkor and other "noname" 1.2 lenses I found more sharp at 1.2 than above lenses. At 1.2 sharp as any lens stopped down. Nikkon have better , creamy bokeh, this is more sharp.

SMC K 35mm 3,5

SMC K 135mm 2,5

SMC A 100mm 2,8 macro (only the macro version)

SMC K 85mm 1,8

SMC A 50mm 1,4

Cheers

And the famous Pentax K 28/2 (Hollywood Distagon clone). I don't have it though, so I cannot add firsthand comments...

Cheers!

I would add the Canon FD and EF 300mm f2.8L lens. Great sharpness and contrast, and images just have a nice look. It even works well with a 1.4x converter.

I had the chance to borrow the EF 200/1.8L, 24/1.4L, and 35/1.4L for two weeks several years ago. Based on that brief trial, I was impressed with all three. The 200 was similar to the 300/2.8 in every way. The 24 and 35 were nice lenses, too. I'm sure they aren't as good as their German counterparts, but they seemed to be better than most wide angles from Canon. Oh, the EF 24/2.8 was good, too.

I also like the Canon FL 50mm f3.5 Macro. It's an inexpensive lens I wouldn't want to be without. Wide open it's perhaps a bit soft, with the most amazing, creamy bokeh. Stopped down a couple of stops it is very sharp.

I would also add the Rodenstock APO Rodagon D 75mm f4 for use on bellows. It looks like an enlarger lens, but is designed for 1:1 use. It's very sharp, has pleasing bokeh, and gives very nice colors. It's fairly inexpensive if purchased attached to a broken Leafscan 35 film scanner.
