Love this one! Beautiful depth and nice bokeh in the background. Is the Oshiro a modern lens? I've heard the name before, but never looked into it...

I love and hate that Hexanon 57 mm f/1.4... I like it whenever I manage to attach it to my setup, but I hate it that there doesn't seem to be a viable solution for using a Konica AR mount lens on a M42 thread (even if you don't need infinity). So I had to use that whole lens inside of my bellows, which isn't anything close to a real solution...

(both shot with the Konica Hexanon 57 mm f/1.4)

(shot with the tiny (Tomioka) Mamiya-Tominon 32 mm f/1.7)

Thanks. I bought mine 7 years ago when it was a relatively new product. It gives a very similar performance to that of the Laowa equivalent at a much lower price.

Hildewintera Mini.

A7r3, Oshiro 2:1 60mm macro at f11.

I was surprised to find that this hybrid has highly-scented flowers, something I had not noticed with any other Hildewintera flower.

Fascinating! I used to love being in Death Valley when the cacti are blooming!

I suppose when you get older the name gets you thinking!

Usually happens at night. At 50 I figured I was halfway.

Marbled White

A7r3, Oshiro 2:1 60mm macro.

This species is mostly found on chalk grassland/meadows

Where I was yesterday there were quite a few flying around but approaching settled ones always put them to flight. I needed a telephoto which I had left at home to reduce weight.

Then I got this shot (cropped):

I got it (a male) because he was preoccupied:

They were right next to the path.

Hildewintera Lolo Fee: a Trio of Buds

A7r3, Oshiro 2: 60mm macro at f11.

Apologies for the Technicolor background. I was driven indoors by rain and couldn't find a clean black one.

Rain?! It was 105F here last two days. Forecast same for next few.

Got my $15 3-d Goggles today. Didn't walk the 1/2 mile trail to get yet...later this morning (2AM here now; much cooler at 1500' elevation)

Thanks.Yes, it was cactus flowers that go me active, photographing their flowers, more than 50 years ago.

Some are small, only a few mm across and others maybe (but not many) up to 30cm. These are in between. This is a hybrid. One of the ancestors had tubular flowers, not opened up at the tips.

50 years ago some cut buttons in my dark closet all bloomed -- so beautiful! They got me active too. albeit quite differently. LOL

The walk to the mailbox crosses two creeks. On crossing, clouds of hundreds of skipper butterflies arose.

Thanks. The slope in the first pair is about right for the car park, with me standing upright. Smile

Thanks. The red one is the International Doghouse Club and the blue and red one is the Austin Healey Club. The Royal Automobile Club is a breakdown rescue organisation.
