Nope, it will stay. And it's so small, you don't even realize it's in the bag. Wink

What I was really interested in was the high ISO performance.

This photo:

was shot in very bad light at ISO 6400!!

Now, see the 100% crop:

You can see how little of the photo this crop covers and the noise level is absolutely acceptable for ISO 6400, I think.

And that's just OOC JPEG, no RAW development or anything!

Laughing With an f/1.2 lens indeed. Wink

Have a look at this one:

ISO1600, just downsized to 800px. ISO1600 is perfectly usable!

This BTW is the first picture I have taken with my NEX-7. Of course, my kids. Wink

ISO1600 was perfectly usable on NEX-3 too, I did shoot up to ISO3200 well. Lovely capture!

Gosh, when I read the title, I thought it was from a XXX movie,
so happy that it is just about a camera Laughing Laughing Laughing

Great that you finally got it and it seems to perform very well!

Congrats C. thats great. we're happy too. What lens did you used? I must save for this cam. Very Happy

PostPosted: Thu Dec 29, 2011 1:29 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

I think it's a stop over the NEX 3 in ISO .The 6400 seems on par with the 3200 on NEX3

Klaus, we all must admit that we feel some kind of erotic crackle when it comes to cams and lenses, right? Wink

Carsten, tell us about the viewfinder!
How do you find focusing a manual lens through the electronic viewfinder?
Easy? Not so easy? Wonderful? What?

(Be careful what you are going to say, the EVF for the 5N is 350€ Laughing Twisted Evil Laughing )

PostPosted: Thu Dec 29, 2011 5:42 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

The EVF is good, not as good as a decent optical viewfinder, but the best EVF I have ever looked through!
Manual focussing is easily possible, not only because of the high resolution but also because the focus peak feature is active in the EVF as well (if you want it).
And all those parameters you can see in the EVF (if you want then to show up) are an advantage compared to an optical finder.

You can set almost anything with this cam, assing almost any funtion to any of the buttons and wheels. The NEX-7 offers a fantastic handling once you have found "your" setting.
