Good old Provia again. It scans so nicely.

And good old Arsat. It images so nicely.

The area in the rocks is very nice walking, in and out of 2 tunnels
and then around various house-sized rocks like a little maze with a
sand floor! No one around for miles sure makes for a nice feeling.

All Alone and Footloose on a Wilderness Beach
Pentax 645
Arsat 30/3.5

Fantastic results with my favorite slide film. Superb colors and like the
footsteps in the sand, presumably yours or did you come the other way?

Excellent comp and interesting sky, too. Serene.

the colors are great, the composure also... but i don't like how the arsat renders!

...i prefer your shots with the 75er pentax!

Bill, those footsteps are mine. I was about 3 miles south of a camp I
had made on the beach. I agree about the Provia colors - the late light
on the bluffs really shows nicely with Provia, without being too saturated.

supah: Could you expand what you don't like about the rendering?
Do you mean color, sharpness? This is how I learn, and perhaps it's
something in the "processing" from the scan. Smile

Thanks Attila, I always enjoy hearing from you, whether it's a critique
to improve, or if it's a kudo - either way!

Esox: I agree about the light. I am somewhat pleased with the edge
sharpness as well. Looking at the small sand and gravel on the left
lower edge, it seems to have retained sharpness that is comparable to the
middle of the image.

Thank you, supah! I am looking at the slide under my lught box,
with a 10x loupe', and it's quite sharp. I have a feeling that the
scanner might be at fault here, as there are parts of the image
that seem soft, in a sort of random way. It could be that the
scanner is not mounting the film very flat.

Again though, thank you! This has spurred me to try another
scan, this time with a different mount. Laughing

Thank you, Attila! However, it's really the scenery itself that lends to
a good image. I am not sure I've seen a more beautiful beach. All
I had to do was point and shoot. Embarassed

How did "YOU" want your picture to look? Because my monitor is not bright and didn't show the footprints, and to me your excellent shot looks better, darker.

The current iteration is what I had in mind; however, I'll take a look at making it darker, and see how it looks. I appreciate your suggestion!

Great image Laurence,
Funny, I have shot nearly the same image last winter, here in Portugal - so yes, I like it very much Wink
I like the Provia, have already some rolls sitting in the frigde.
