You appear to have had nice clear air. I've just been in Wiltshire over Christmas and was reminded how much later it comes light in the mornings compared to Suffolk, also it rained virtually non-stop but films going off to the developer either tomorrow or next week. That Zeiss lens is nice but, tell me, had you got a polarising filter fitted? _________________ I used to think digital was fun but then I discovered film, then I found old lenses and then, eventually I found rangefinders.

Thanks again, it was a great day out
I didn't have any filters on the lenses, although for the first train shot I reduced highlights a bit as I overexposed. I should have used a CPL for the second train shot with the Zeiss, I think it would have balanced the sky better. _________________ Graham - Moderator

Another very nice series, my favourite is #7 !
The people there put a great effort into this reenactment, it's great to see that happening, the costumes and the trains look great.
The classic Vario is a guarantee of success
P.S. did you know that the costumes designers for film and TV have a real problem re-creating those early XX century clothings convincingly?
The reason is that the fabrics today are not made in the same way as then. The raw materials were processed differently, the colouring was different,
and the clothes were also tailored differently. Outside from the starting materials (wool, cotton, linen), everything else today is different.
I was not aware of that, I read about it on a magazine. Particularly the wool clothes are very difficult to reproduce convincingly in texture and colouring,
unless you replicate exactly the same production methods of the time from the very start of the line - which is of course difficult and expensive. _________________ Orio, Administrator
