Is anybody can help to identify this lens ?

The toothed wheel around the front suggests it had an external focus drive mechanism. My guess is it was for some sort of movie camera or military camera where remote focus was needed. Or is it the aperture ring that is connected to the toothed part? If so, same implication - movie or military and they needed remote aperture control.

Interesting item, try to mount it on the NEX with tape Smile

It has proper RF coupling as Wilhelm said I will pick it up from him on Monday to test , before going to sale.

Remote focusing hint is interesting , but on a pre-war lens ? Exciting!

according to my docs it was made 31.07.1947 for Contax in a batch of 900 pcs and with "Optik verschraubt" which could be interpreted as "sealed optic"

But it's M39 so can't be for Contax.

I like the samples, typical Sonnar, I like this more than the Summarit.

Look again it's back pro work, but may not genuine or lens did exists to both , Contax and Leica.
Military on industrial usage is my guess.

That would not explain the L39 mount and rangefinder registration distance (unless they're an afterwork).
Since Thiele's catalog classifies it as a special lens, I am inclined to attribute it to a limited military or scientifical set.

Whatever its purpose, the lens itself its beautiful. And produces excellent images, also.

Unknown yet, military or industrial in dusty or wet environment I think due 'sealed optic'

I would also test if the lens is "hot" i.e. Radioactive. Wonderful samples, really nice!

Hmm, did the Germans have access to Lanthanum, Thorium etc during the war?

I think the first applications of Lanthanum glass were in the Kodak Ektars of the 1940s, certainly the Aero-Ektars that were widely used during the war contained thoriated glass.
