Hello to the Tair family,
is there a difference in optics between a M 42 tair 300 and one for Kiev 88 mount ? Want to put on Nikon and would then get infinity with the medium format adaption....which makes more sense using a tele lens

i have the kiev 88 version - the first one black with alu stripes.
very cool looks
1.7 kg , - not exactly handheld lens
I have an adapter from kiev88 to m42.
if you close it a bit it gets sharp.
I guess if you do not need the 6x6 size you can find much smaller and light 300 mm lens. |

@std thanks for the samples
my question is: with the Kiev 88 mount and an adapter to Nikon i get the necessary register, with an M 42 version i don´t get it, but middle format lenses might have less resolution than 35mm lenses, so i ask if the optical quality is the same between the different tair 300´s

i think there was s resolution data somewhere.
could not find it now. According to this site they are the same
http://whitemouse.ru/photo/hardware/tair33.wmb
http://whitemouse.ru/photo/hardware/tair3.wmb
Center/edge resolution 25/18 line pairs per millimeter
So nothing special.
I guess the newer Jupiter 36 (250/3.5) is better
or at least they say here that his resolution is better.
Center/edge resolution 45/25 lines per mm

btw there is a nikon to kiev 88 adapter on dvdtechnik - here for $25. same as mine but to nikon.

Some time ago I was looking for a Tair too and didn't find a clear answer to the differences between the two lenses (m42/kiev88), but I think are the same lenses but with different back piece.
I finally got two tair, each one part of the "photosnipper" box. One is old and very used and the other one is almost new ... seem to be made in the 80's ...
I'm very happy with it.
Also I did buy a sun 180-410mm m42 and works nice too ...
I still have to compare them in detail ...
Nice jupiter, std! If you don't want it tell me, I'm tempted too! |

Also what's that mess around the chimney? Looks like a switch/router/modem. I see what looks to be a RJ45. But outdoors is a strange place for it indeed. |

Take it please I'm really fighting with the buying addiction lately so i will pass this time.
A good therapy is to pass them on sell them to someone else and never look back so with the money you can get something else.. - i got contax g1 this month.

the 250 in ebay russia is a super offer - but i am just bidding on one in Germany, it will probably end up with a little higher price but much less shipment cost, so i can´t take it for now - pau.cc take it
