I really like the Ricoh FF-xx series point and shoots. The first 4 are from the
FF-90 and the last is from the FF-3 AF:

All are using cheap film, either Arista 400 or Kodak Gold 200. I've posted
some of these in the Oversized Section, but this is the first time in smaller
files with frames, except for the last shot.

Marvelous work. Bill, you can make ANYTHING look good, these are all extremely fine compositions. And the color seems spot-on, even though the film was cheap. Shocked

Thanks, Laurence, I am hesitant to use pro-level film in these $10 cameras,
but they seem to bring out the best of whatever cheap film I use.

Luis, all these were done on my Epson 4490.

Thank you Bill for the FF-3 and the film... Now I get to follow your footsteps.

The lens is indeed fine, water and stone are alive though it. The Memories 200 film's cool too... Ricoh FF-3af, drug store scan

Very cool shots, Nesster, love the reflections in both of these. Nice little
walkabout outfit, but the film advance (in ALL models) is not a stealth
machine. Laughing

Not to mention, the FF-3 is about the only camera that has survived my recent jinx. Rolling Eyes the Stylus did not Crying or Very sad

Did the Stylus have a misadventure? Sorry to hear that.

Very nice play between the water and the stone. Very impressive when go together, special atmosphere.

Cams are good? I don't know, it seems to be a good ones. But the fotographer are very good.

Rino.

I still remain with my mouth open wide seeing those shots...

Bill, all of them are really good, but the last one is superb, one of the finest compositions I've ever watched.

When I see pictures like those, I'm tempted of packing all my photo stuff and dedicate myself to grow bonsais...

Sincere congrats!.

Jes.

Spiralcity and Jes, thanks for your kind words. If you see one of these
Ricohs for cheap, snap it up for the glove compartment in your car. Wink

+1, definitely over-achieving cameras.

Those are excellent quality from a camera I'd not come across before. Any idea what that Memories film is? You might have mentioned it before, if so I unrecall.

Konica film.

Thanks for that, Attila.

Dave, DNP bought out Konica's old film and paper plants and started making
the film DNP Centuria 200. In the states it's rebadged as Memories 200, but
of course peeling back the onion reveals that it is the old Konica Centuria
200. Laughing I'm sure this makes sense, somewhere...

That certainly explains the quality - so many of the house and smaller brands were so-so runoffs from the lower end of the bigger makers. I have some of the old Centuria rollfilm which has produced some decent results so far.

Forgive my question, but why hesitate to use better quality film? Is it on account of cost or because you feel there is not enough inherent quality in these cameras to show through? Just curious because the results you've posted do look very good indeed.

Yes they are nice shots, I really like No 2 and 3.
I wonder how these Ricoh cameras look like.

Gents, thanks for your comments.

Stephen, I might try better film with these, I just find myself wanting
to use an SLR when I have pro level film.

Koji, here are some pics:
Ricoh FF-90

Ricoh FF-3 AF

Both of these models take AA alkaline batteries (2) that you can get anywhere, recommended. And they are laughably cheap.
