Well I don't know what the lens is, but I'm curious. Excellent series of images. Great architecture. It's nice to see people in some of those shots for scale.
I really love the cropped picture of the girl with the cyclist in the background!

Helios guessed it right! It's an Orion-15 28mm f/6 lens.
Astounding results, aren't they?
The lens is a very nice gift from Carsten - thank you very much my friend!
It is an uncommon to find lens, and it has more than 40 lines per millimeter which makes of it an incredible sharp lens. Another plus, it has nearly zero chromatic aberration, and I tried it in extreme backlight conditions. It also has a very low distortion. Really a beautiful lens!

Marco Cavina has mine and he has also shown on his site how well that one performs! Plus the very iteresting history based an Prof Rossinov's work.

Indeed the Orion-15 is a very interesting lens, for several reasons that I quote from Marco's article:

- it's a Topogon-based lens - not really a clone of the existing aerial recognition Topogons, since those were tele lenses. In fact, the Orion-15 (created 1944) pre-dates the Zeiss Topogon 25mm wide angle, which was built in 1950.

- the soviet Topogon-based lenses come from a close collaboration of Zeiss with the Soviet lens makers in the 30s - I was not aware of this pre-war connection!

- during the cold war, the Orion-15 was used as a spy lens in instant reproduction boxes that were make to resemble normal briefcases - see the drawing on Marco's page - isn't that amazing? Very Happy

- the two internal menisci in the Topogon and Orion lenses need to be so thin, that they are less than 1 mm thick! Shocked
