Actually, I like them too, but not as portrait substitutes. I like the surreal feel of them. They remind me of Eug?ne Atget.

Carsten, I would like to add the Canon EF 100/2.8 USM AF macro to
your list, awesome bokeh and sharpness!

I've replaced the ebay photos of the Balda Baldax with shots using the
Helios 44-2. Somehow, my lens seems to have better bokeh than other
issues of the same lens. The faucet shot in the Tamron thread certainly
has nice bokeh!
