Now that is a case of extreme photoporn - what a lens!

Thanks! This lens is incredible, and the camera also.
I could never obtain that poppies picture with my DSLRs. The reds would have failed completely. Here they are a lot better. Still not as good as film, but closer, as you can see from this crop:

The Biogon 35 has really a painterly bokeh.

P.S. note, it's wide open.

I had that once with my RD-1 and it is in deed an excellent lens (had the 25mm also, even better)!

Yeah, I was very close to buying the 25, but I realized that first I needed a "normal" lens that I can walk around with. The 25 needs a separate viewfinder. I'll get it for sure anyway, just a matter of time Smile

One thing puzzles me, some reviews say this lens is soft Shocked or, at least, softer than the other Zs, look at the cat crop, if that is soft I don't dare to ask what is sharp...

It seems a good lens and has a vitage look to the photos.

Great lens. Congrats.
The poppies image is great.

Wow. Even if you didn't identify the lens you used, I still would have guessed it was a Zeiss. It's just that distinctive from other lenses out there. Great pics!

congrats, beautiful silver lens!

I know what you mean. I think it shows in picture #11. It had all the unfavourable conditions: flat lighting, nearly monochrome foreground. And yet, you can feel the hills rolling. You can feel the volume, even if there isn't a single shadow in the scene.

I think this is amazing lens performance.

Yeah, I bought it silver even if my camera is black, because it looks so cool. Cool and the real lens looks a lot better than this CG rendering.

I believe Andy (f16sunshine) has this lens too and has posted superb pictures here with it. It's a very desirable lens, I have read many positive reviews of this lens and, has been recommended by a die hard Leica user/friend.

I too love the silver on black look, is your M9 all black?

I have been contemplating whether to get this or the Summicron 2/35. Both seems to have their own strong points that almost necessitate having both. And your pictures does not make my decision any much easier Confused

Keep posting those pics, thanks.

Congratulations, Orio!

A 2/35 on an M9 is a fantastic combo for rangefinder shooting! A dream!

The greens in your shots are amazing! They look like boosted in Photoshop! Wow!

And the crop of the cat picture? Wow²!

Actually, not only they were not, but also, I sometimes have to tone down the greens in Lightroom because they are too much!

Greens is where I appreciate the most difference with the Canon cameras. On Canon, the greens are often warm and tend to fall into the yellow range. With the M9, you have a neater separation between greens and yellows. I like that, although as I said, sometimes there's a bit too much. But as you teach me, with digital images, it is always better (quality wise) to simply subtract, rather than to add or modify!

Laughing No, 5DII indispensable for most work, will still be #1 for use.
I hope it will last for many years... today I got it back in my hands after two weeks of only M9... I was shocked by how plastic and fragile it feels in comparison Sad It feels like it can break anytime Sad Damn plastic. Rolling Eyes
