Did you have any problems with rear groups in the past? The 58mm Tak does not have a cemented rear group so it should be cleaned easily. But let's just assume the Tak is in a great shape (as most are; it's rare to find fungused Taks(. _________________ Peter - Moderator

Ye,s I have had trouble with hazed rear groups in sonnars. All were 50mm RF lenses. 2ea 50mm nikkors and 1ea 50mm Canon LTM lenses.
I understand it is fairly common as lubricants can break down the cement.
If the Takis not cemented it should be a non issue even if fogged.
This type of haze is easily cleaned from open elements.
The seller is being lazy. Says they only post on fridays
Not easy to accept when you purchase on a monday morning. What can I do at this point. Would have been nice to take with me this weekend. _________________ Moderator |

Congratulations, Andy! I like the photos I've seen from the various 50mm f1.5 Sonnar lenses for RF cameras. I've wondered how the Takumar would compare, so I look forward to your assessment of the lens. I hope it arrives soon.

As a collector of nice old photography stuff I have learned to be patient. What's 3 weeks in a lifetime? Nothing!
I wish you a lot of success with whatever you may encounter on your trip! _________________ Peter - Moderator

Lens and camera arrived today.
The glass is perfect body above average but not mint either.
Focus is a bit stiff. I'll go take some snaps with Vika later and post soon.
The camera body is sweet. Looks very well cared for and the speeds are on.
Anyone wants it make an offer I don't need it. _________________ Moderator |

I have a friend in the UK looking for one of those lenses, he'll be jealous! I guess shipping to the UK for the body would be too expensive?
