That Pentax "Special" is one rare thing. One of my wishes. Do you know how many were made?
And what nice cakes are those inbetween?

the Standardized Measurement Units (SMU) are generic thin mints.....

the SMC 50mm f1.2 isn't one of the specials, but an anodized version of a standard lens - it's a custom job:

I'm doing a bit of catching up, I've been finding lenses I didn't know I'd bought!

I like this Bell & Howell, it's almost certainly an Osawa lens. It's light and sharp, It was filthy and fungused, but only £4. It cleaned up perfectly.

The Kowa was an oddity that turned up on Marketplace for £5, I had to have it. All I need now is a dead Kowa camera to cannibalise into an adaptor. I think this might be a nice lens, and maybe scarce?

This Listar 200 / 3.5 turned up this morning, £6 off Marketplace. It's in excellent condition - although I have yet to test it. I don't know who made it, it has a lot of Sankor characteristics, maybe early Tokina. It's YS mount and a very nicely made lens. Any ideas??

Minox 35 PL, I can't remember where this came from Rolling Eyes but it looks unused.

I've got quite a few Schacht lenses, so this one had to join the collection. £10 with some fungus, easily cleaned.

There's a local junk shop that does house clearances, I haunt the place, just so I can get the occassional gem like this for £3 I also buy old tables and furniture to chop up for my other hobby of woodwork and turning.

I bought this Soligor 105 /2.8 a few months ago and it's become a favourite. I think it is most likely a Tokina, maybe Kawakami - Kawanon aka INA Vernon Optrogon Kowanon

This was in a bad way, the focus ring was off with missing grub screws, the clamp screw was missing off the tripod clamp and the lens was fungused. It's all fixed and working perfectly. I swopped it for a battered old tripod, which seemed liked a good deal.

Telemar -22A 200 / 5.6 in it's case with both caps in excellent condition, £10 on Marketplace.

Another Marketplace find, just 1 mile away from our house. I did cost me £60, but I doubt it's been used. It's a superb lens.

The Rubinar had been on sale for nearly a year, but it was listed as "Canon Lens" ( it had a Canon T mount ) and one poor photo. I'd seen it ages ago, but one night I looked at the photo a bit more closely and decided to go and have a look, it was just across the car park of the supermarket we use.
I soon had the £60 out, I didn't even bother haggling.

Just bought a Summicron-M 90mm v2 Pre-Asph for 270 Euro. The lens is on it's way. If it is in a good shape (as described) it should have been a good deal.

Time will tell.

Very nice lens that I’ll properly never part with!

Your excellent feedback and Flickr portraits pushed me to look for one.

For the price I could not resist.

Apart from some exotic (and later!) lenses probably the best fast MF lens in the 200mm range, certainly better (which basically means "less CAs") than the Canon FD/nFD 2.8/200, the Minolta MD 2.8/200mm, the Pentax 2.5/200mm and the Zeiss CY Sonnar 2.8/180mm. I don't know the Pentax-A* 2.8/200mm ED though!

Leica R 3.4/180 APO is better, and Leica R 2.8/180 (non-APO) about equal. Leica R 2.8/180 APO of course is better as well, but also much newer.

Enjoy it!

H.C. 50mm f2. I had one of these before, and sold it off due to lack of use, which was a mistake. I got sort of missing it, and this came up on a local marketplace for almost reasonable. Unclaimed goods from a camera repair shop, which is about a five minute walk from here. It's been CLA'd. Coatings reflect back with a slightly green tinge.

Controls and markings. I think the one I had previously had a chrome nose, so this may be a newer variant. Name ring still retains the locking screw, which is usually missing on these.
To be A/I converted by me in the near future.

Nice! As you know from my previous postings, this lens is one of my my favourite "slow" vintage fifites ... Nice low contrast rendering wide open, and surprisingly good stopped down. Not unlike the Minolta MD-III 2/50mm, another of my favourute slow fifites (not to be confused with the earlier MC-X/MD-I 2/50mm which is a doifferent computation).

Enjoy it!

Coatings comparison between "H" and "H.C."...

It does want to render a bit in diffuse late afternoon window light. F 5.6 and ISO 1600 here.

Detail shows well for optics this age. f8 here nearly to minimum focus distance.
Nice tonal range- which seems to be somewhat related to the later green coatings. Decent contrast.
160 % crop.

What it looks like on an almost modern camera. f5.6 here. Photographer is more on the vintage/classic side Wink
(Taken in the mirror and image reversed in p.p.)
All images straight out of camera jpegs except for re-size, reversal, and crops.

@ pepperberry farm
I thought your pentax is one of these.:

...where I found the answer to my question. About 1000 were made.
And I see the difference now.

Couldn't resist this since I have novoflex stuff. Apparently these noflexar 500mm f5.6's are pretty rare. - serial is 50051. pentaconsix.com has info and test pics. However I think I need one of the earlier "pigriffs" - trigger focus stocks - off the cuff I thought the bayonet would match but it doesn't. UPDATE needs the medium format "pigriff" see here, now that will take some serious auction site browsing...

Lens finally arrived in a good to very good condition for it's age. Optics at a first check look clean.

Time to shoot.

I was still missing a zoom lens in the lower focal length range, so I bought a Nikon AF 35-70/2.8.
Technically not an AF lens, but on my camera it will be. Price and condition very good.

Few days ago obtained Rodenstock Apo-Macro-Sironar digital 120 mm f/5,6 lens for my Sinar F2 4x5 View Camera with the proper recessed board. However not so cheap bay unfortunately.

Wow, that design/naming shameless.
Reminds me of the old "Olympia," "Cannon," Nikkon" cameras that circulated in the 80s.
