I just tested my copy, serial number 8548373, it is quite radioactive (15.06uS/hr at the front, 17.41uS/hr at the rear) and very yellowed. My copy does have the depth of focus marking different to yours, another small difference is that the 3 screws that hold the cover adjacent to the M42 mount, are black on my lens and silver on your copy. Perhaps you lens has been reassembled with the name ring off of another earlier pancolar lens. |
You are talking about the (later) f1.8 Pancolar here, NOT about the Pancolar 2/50mm! Yours was made in 1970, according to zeissikonveb.de.
The Pancolar 1.8/50mm is well known to be radioactive, due to its four outer lenses made of thorium glass SSK11.

So I just searched "Tominon". This produced a wooden case containing all but the 135mm at a very acceptable price. It will shortly be on the way to me. |
They have arrived. The listing was incomplete. The box also contained the 135mm. All are in mint condition with all caps. _________________ Dedicated to using manual focus lenses with digital. Yeah, I figured the Sun might not be the best optically, but mechanically it’s very nice.
Other lenses in the box: Tamron 75-250/3.8-4.5, Tokina RMC 28/2.8 and a Typonar 400mm f/6.3 of which I killed the aperture as soon as i turned the aperture ring. _________________ For Sale:

it seems like a very high quality with the ``macro`` option included, very heavy but very good focal length for this zoom - typonar could be different maker, depending on the SN , what do you mean you´ve killed the aperture ring? i assume it was blocked |

The aperture blades were sticking together and totally screwed up once i turned the aperture ring. _________________ For Sale:

I assume you are talking about the left lens in the above picture. That is a genuine Leica M 2.8/90mm lens.
Calvins lens is the one on the camera. No red dot as far as I can see, and font colors clearly different from real Leica lenses (red ft / white m instead of yellow ft / white m).

Thanks for the clarification. Let me add a bit more information.
Yes. The font i use is similar to the lens the left side and the way to indicate the lens spec.
White is the best one use on black anodized aluminum. There is not much choice left if you want to ensure good readability on the focus/dof scale: red, yellow/orange, green. Since i want to keep the design simple, the distance index is just a white line. There is no red dot, only a red line as the mounting index. The rest are pretty standard design which is used by every lens.
