Hello,

I opened this thread so that we put in it, what we consider the best (or what you like to use) colour negative / black and white negative / slide film. Lets say 3 for each category.

Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to shoot other than colour negative film, so I won't participate here Sad .

Colur negative film

1. Kodak ProFoto 100 (very fine grain, very realistic colours and skin tones)

2. Kodak Gold 200 (fine grain - but more than ProFoto 100 -, saturated colours)

3. FujiFilm X-Tra Superia 400 (fine grain - for its speed -, neutral colours, sharp)

I was always a Agfa fan so I have been hit hard by the company's failure.

My preferred colour films:

Agfa Optima : it was my standard film, the best negative film I ever used.
Agfa Ultra: when I needed that extra saturation, great for abstract and still life

My preferred slide film:

the very standard Agfa slide film, can't remember how it was called, it was just perfect for me, balanced natural colours.

My preferred black and white film:

Not being able to process at home, I didn't have one. I was happy with the results I got from standard Agfa, but also from Ilford.

Well, here is something for you Pentacon Six then: CLICK_HERE
but, unfortunatelly its expired (I don't know how much, keeping the films in the freezer, extends their "shelf life")

I have bought one of these packs. I don't know either how long they may last. In the past I used expired film. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's trash. Difficult to predict.

My favourites are:

1) Kodak BW400CN (I really like it and it so "accessible".)
2) Agfa APX Pan 100 (Just great!)
3) Fujichrome Provia or Sensia series (Velvia for landscapes)
4) Jessops Diamond 200 (because it has a very special character and I got loads of it for very little money Wink)

For Medium Format:
- AGFA APX Agfapan 25 (for b&w landscape or architecture shots on a tripod!)
- Kodak Portra 160NC (for everything else)
