We had a great stormy weather last week, I did not dare to go to my favorite beach, trying to capture the infinite power of the ocean.

Of course I had a 86mm P-Filter mounted on the Distagon, the salty water was everywhere and I had to flee a dozen times. I hope you can feel the the salt in the air. Wink

Some seriously awesome shots. Great composition too.
Distagon 2.8/12 !! Seems to have no distortion at all.
The volume of the wave splash can be felt

distagon 2.8/12?
never heard of it. was it a typo and you meant the 2.8/21?

Oh, my fault, it's just a typo, already corrected.
Yes I wish they would have made such a lens Smile
Of course it's the D21 Embarassed

Beautiful, moody, technically impeccable - Sandy's pictures!

Oh thanks friends! And sorry again about the typo Embarassed
Of course I'm happy with the Distagon 21, no need for a secret 12mm prototype Wink
For landscape photography the D21 is almost disortion free, the contrast is great and it renders a deep blue sky "out of the box".

I just had to add some dodging and burning for the rocks, the light was changing with every splash, shading the interesting parts of the scene.

Beautiful scenes!

Did the Distagon get wet?

Thank you.
No, I was very careful, had the 82-86S step up ring and a 86mm P-Filter mounted, a little plastic bag wrapped around the Distagon from the step up ring to the camera body (pretty bad for focusing) and protected the whole camera with my jacket. There were tiny salt crystals on the filter and the camera, but like after every session, I gave it a deep clean at home.

Nice photos! Thanks for sharing! Looks quite dangerous, and fun. Shocked

#4 for me; #3 might be best composition. Confused

Fabulous!
#3 for me Sand. I like the use of foreground in that pic.
The contrast of the rocks on the sand and reflection of the wave in the pool mimicking the clouds in the sky gives a very almost surreal scene.
It's just fantastic!

Thank you all!

Thanks Martin! I was very close, four or five meters I think.
The extreme wideangle gives a wrong feeling for depth and scale, unfortunately.
The waves were really tall, between 2 and 4 meters. The noise was incredible Smile.

The P-Filter is the Contax protection filter, just a glass filter, to keep our little gems clean and safe. Camera was my good old 5D, I wish I could afford a water sealed body Crying or Very sad

Thank you Andy, I'm glad you like it, it's my favourite too.

For the scale, three images, the rock in the background is more than two meters tall:

Excellent composition, colours etc. The Distagon and photographer are both superb Cool

Not sure I'd get THAT close to the salty water with a Distagon 21 though Laughing
