Not much talk about Zuiko lenses,...

...I though they were pretty good optically, and since I have an Olympus E-510 the OM system was my logical entrance into the world of MF (and accessible and fast primes too).
I can't find a single one on the best picks sticky thread.

Is this because all the others are better, or is this forum more heavily populated with Pentax owners (because that's how it all started) and it was also natural to go with Pentax glass?

Thanks.

Strange that you don't find Zuikos in our favourite lens lists...

I've got three Zuikos: 3.5/28, 1.4/50 and 3.5/135 and I consider them to be some of the best lenses I have!

Anyone have samples of the Zuikos lenses in Question? And do they need to be ground down, files to fit EF mount? Because I have a file that needs some metal.

No need to file anything with zuikos onto eos. I have tried all of mine on both cropped and full frame canons with no problems. Check the MF gallery for samples. Just click on the big "Iris" icon in the upper rh corner of this page. Then follow links to the olympus om lens page. Also you can search by keyword. There are many different posts with zuiko samples.

You'll find no shortage of Zuiko praise, but the search engine isn't all that good at zero-ing in on stuff - it tends to be too broad. I don't think there's a preponderance of Pentax owners on here, not that I've noticed - it seems fairly spread.

Ok so I guess, or I'm guessing the -Letter e.g. Auto-T = Telephoto, -W = Wide, -Z = Zoom, and -S =?

S=standard

The other letter dsignations indicate the number of elements

G= 8 elements
H=9 elements

ETC...........

I have the 3.5/24 shift I find it more versatile than the 18. When shifted it has virtually the same FOV but with better control of focus plane and distortion. The price has become quite close for these two as the 18 gains in demand. Next month I will sell my extra copy of the 3.5/24 shift anyone who wants it can send me a PM.

My opinion about Zuikos almost same than Carl Zeiss , they never made any weak copy all OM lenses are very good or superb.

Question: How do you get the Zukios to fit on an EOS? Adapter?

Thanks

Jules

Adapter for EOS widely available on Ebay.
