I bought it at a fleamarket for 20 Euro. The owner sell lenses based on their size. The bigger ones, for example, 135 mm lenses for 15 euro, and smaller ones, 50mm and 28mm lenses for 10 euro.

But I could only focus up to 3 meter, when I attached the Yashinon Tomioka 55/f1.2 on my Canon 350D. The mirror is just too big for it.

The guy just gave you $300 or so.

Has he got any other nice lenses ?

You got this lens for €20 as well??? Shocked WOW! What a bargain!

But it seems strange to me that you cannot use it on your 350D...

Not really.
The rear glass has been cut/damaged in a very stupid way. Maybe that is the reason why the original owner of it sold it.

I will do some test of it later.

The dealer has many minolta 45/f2, mamiya 50/f1.7, as well bunch of porst, revuenon 135/f2.8, several Miranda lenses.

What? That kind of luck can't be possible, there must be some laws against that!

Congrats on a very exiting find!

Thank you ! Laughing Razz Now I am really really surprised.

In fact I showed the rear glass to the dealer, and said"The lens is broken, so I could only pay 20€ for the camera and the lens". Then the dealer agreed.

I decide to go fleamarket every Sunday morning from now on.

Mmmhhh, next time I'll try that ... "See, the front lens on that Helios 40 has a blue/pink discoloration, it is broken, I'll give you 10€ for that junk" Laughing

Nice find Sandie
This one will be an heirloom for your grandchildren. As you have probably found out by now the Yashinon DX version of the Tomioka 1.2/55 is the most desirable and has a CULT+ status. Be very careful with how you adapt the lens. The rear element is oversized in diameter as you can see. A "flanged" adapter will will limit infinity (as you found) and can damage the lens. Try and find a non flanged adapter. It may be difficult to find a M42- Eos AF chipped adapter that is non flanged. I had a M42-CY adapter to use mine on Contax bodies. Then when my Eos arrived I simply adapted with a C/Y-Eos af adapter. Enjoy it is a fun lens wide open and down to 2.8. Beyond that you will find the big flat rear element reflects the aperture blades and makes some strange images.

Very Happy

I think the problem is insufficient diameter of the orifice in your M42 to EOS adapter.

I have Yashinon 55/1.2 too and I had to enlarge it to make the back glass element possible to pass through.

Thank you ! I will try to test it.

I checked it. You are right.
The aperture pin stop down flange stop the rear glass part to pass through. I would have to remove the pin stop flange.
