I bought a Pentax Spotmatic with 3 lenses. I bought the lot for the lenses to be frankly. While the lenses are in immaculate condition, the camera is malfunctioning. I don't know much about these kind of things, so I wondered if someone could help me out.
The release button is pushed in and does not "return". Also, the automatic timer is wound to its maximum but does not run. The mirror can be moved up and down. The film winder cannot be used either. It blocks. The film exposure counter is at the very first position, before 0.
If it's not easy to fix, I'll sell it as "parts".

fotomachi, check this thread. I'm not sure from your description that this will cure it, but it's the first thing to try. Good luck Wink

Thanks for the quick reply. I sadly don't have the necessary equipment with me to unscrew those tiny screws at the bottom, but will do so at work next monday. Boy, will I be glad when the working week begins Laughing

That will probably do the trick, it is about a 2 minute job Laughing
I have used this to fix a 'broken' camera that I bought off ebay.

I never saw a follow up to that Michael, is the camera working properly?

It doesn't work... Following your procedure, the lever doesn't latch automatically. I have to move the gear you see under the lever in your picture to latch the lever. Also, the release button remains pushed in and doesn't get "unpushed out" Confused Furthermore, the timing mechanism is wound up and cannot be released. So even when I get the lever latched, it doesn't do anything...

Oh that's a shame, I'm sorry to hear that, but it was worth a try. I suspected there might be something else wrong when you said the button was pushed in.
