Very nice shots all (and a very good choice in lens).

My only wish would be to have seen a little more of the interesting sky (something the K 28/3.5 does very well with) and a little less of the fairly uniform sand in #1. [However, take that from whence it comes -- I've said similar things about ~many~ of my own scenic shots ~after~ I got home and looked at them on the PC screen -- I'm a great "armchair critic" -- LOL.]

Thank you Miran.
This lens is sharp even from wide open.
Here are a few from our garden taken a few minutes ago.

Thanks Klaus.
Here is a crop from the wide open shot above.
Lens can be quite sharp at full aperture.

very good performer until edges / corners also on 35mm, very good for architecture / landscape
e.g. on Sony A7 in Melk / Austria

haha, thank you, very kind.
as old Pentax 'fanboy' Wink I had to get this lens eventually, bought it very recently
I made a ( fast and dirty ) comparison of 28mm lenses, including the SMC f3.5, at infinity with f5.6 and f8 only, see: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuanslenstests/collections/72157670043721223/
lenses used, in alphabetical order were: Kiron f2.8/28mm, Komura f3.5/28mm, M-Rokkor f2.8/28mm ( faulty ), Olympus MC OM f2 28mm, Pentax K f2.8/30mm, Pentax K f3.5/28mm, Vivitar f2/28mm ( by Kiron ), Vivitar Close Focus f2.8/28mm.

another take of Melk ( at least to see the very good corners )

and at the "Ybbs" river in Amstetten, also Austria

Some nice sharp flower shots, with pretty decent bokeh (not always found when using a w/a lens), Oldhand.

And some sharp (and pleasantly atmospheric) scenic shots of Melk (with good corners indeed), kuuan.

How does the Pentax K 30mm 2.8 behave in this bunch of 28mm's?

There are a couple dozen reviews of the K 30/2.8, many with sample images, on the Pentax Forums at http://www.pentaxforums.com/lensreviews/SMC-Pentax-K-30mm-F2.8-Lens.html, where it is rated extremely highly, and where at least a few reviews do compare it to some 28's.

I might be interested in a K 30/2.8 if I didn't already have "far too many" 28's (Pentax K 28/2, Pentax K 28/3.5, VS1 (Tokina) 28/1.9, Vivitar (Komine) 28/2 Close Focus, Vivitar (Komine) 28/2.8 Close Focus).

there is a link to comparison takes at infinity of 28mm lenses including the Pentax K 2.8/30mm in my last answer.
extreme corners of the 3.5/28 are superior, otherwise imo there is little between the two
cheers, andreas

Thank you Chhayanat .
I think that this may be the best 28mm lens that I have.
Here is another shot from my trip.

I recently got very nice looking Pentax-K 3.5/28mm. I can confirm what is well known already - the lens is excellent on 24 MP FF (well, its an 8L construction and relatively slow), especially if stopped down to f8 ... f11. No lateral CAs at all, and perfect corner resolution. Even on 43 MP FF the lens is nearly perfect at f8 and f11 (no CAs, again). Impressive, especially since I can compare it to nearly 60 other 28mm lenses.

Thanks for your input, how would you compare it with distagon c/y 2.8?

I can do a side-by-side shortly, but I assume the Zeiss will be inferior (for landscape purposes, that is).

EDIT: see here https://forum.mflenses.com/pentax-k-3-5-28-vs-zeiss-cy-2-8-28-for-landscapes-t85402.html

philipreeve found these two on par/very close to sony 28mm f2, but i´m curious about your results on infinity; i only have nFD 28mm and zeiss c/y 2.8 on 28mm, zeiss giving better results
