Interesting.

I'd expect they could sample and take a few notes about Pekka Saarinen's excellent code
which drives his POTN forum.
I know some of our members also lurk or participate over there. That's a great setup he's made.

I'd like to see similar changes implemented to the coding for this forum.

Me too. Just add "site:mflenses.com" (without the quotes) after your search term, for example

Works with most search engines. However, only the Public facing forums get searched -- Photographer's Cafe and Official News And Announcements are not included in results.
Code:
uggabugga site:mflenses.com
for example will not find this post.

Which brings us to the other forum search lack of functionality -- inability to search other than Subject, such as text in Posts. Using forum search for "uggabugga" will not find this post, for example.

phpBB has the ability to add required sql indices for searching Posts but performance cost may be high...

In case anyone else is unclear how to accomplish that change, try this:

Log in.
Click your Profile icon near the top of the page.
Scroll down to "Board Style" and you have the option to change it.

Just by pure coincidence I read this page and shortly afterwards went over to POTN, to find it's shutting down at the end of the year (now, basically).
