Pretty cool on the same day my Minolta MC W Rokkor 35 2.8 came so did this.
I didn't have much of a picture to go off of but I knew what it was.
It is in at least ex+ condition. I will post pictures of the lens later. A thunderstorm is comming up so I ran outside and snapped off a couple quick pics.
Fujitar 35 2.5 at 2.5. Only PP is a slight contrast boost. Lens is in Exakta mount so I was handholding inside my M42 adapter. Shot is on my 10D.

Here are a couple quick pics of the lens. A few small paint chips on the rim but otherwise a very nice lens. Works perfectly. I just need to rig up a way to shoot with it where I don't get light leaks.
The Exakta EOS adapter is going to have to wait awhile.
Bought this one from my change jar. USD $5 + $5 shipping.

Thank You. I thought I posted back a response.
I still haven't bought an Exakata EOS adapter yet. So I still haven't shot much with it, but I'm looking foward too. _________________

At the latest Camera swap meeting here in Vancouver I ran into a Fujitar 2.5/35mm, preset lens with an Asahiflex 37mm thread. It came with the same vintage M37 to M42 adapter ring. Unfortunately, this lens can't be focused to infinity mounted on my Fotga M42 to Sony E mount adapter. (I just ordered another M37-M42 adapter).
At first I thought that this lens was produced by Fuji optical, but after a brief search I learned that I was wrong!
Even though I didn't have full focusing range, I took this lens with my for a walk.
I think it produced beautiful, soft pictures with lot of flare and very nice bokeh

jury seems to be out on who made the soligor, but perhaps it was fujita as well? |

I was interested in this Topic and the additional information provided about the Fujita 35mm f2.5 lens and it's clones.
I have clones of the Fujita lens with the brand names, VOSS, JUPLEN and WIRGAR
The VOSS and JUPLEN lenses are Exakta mount the WIRGAR is M42 - though the unthreaded portion at the bottom of the mount prevents inserting the lens fully into an M42 to Sony adapter or a T adapter. These adapters have a flange located within the adapter that prevents fully screwing the lens down to the lens flange / adapter interface. I have a Pentax LX with the Pentax PK to M42 insert - I can screw the lens into this adapter. The amount of M42 threading is much greater than any other M42 mount lens I have - thus perhaps this lens was intended for an adapter I know nothing about?
I have searched on line for other name brands used for this lens and have downloaded the photos, though I'm unsure if I can post these on MFLenses due to potential copyright infringement. I will be glad to send the images to anyone who is interested by email.
The name brand VOSS is listed as a trade name used by Piesker (Piesker Berlin & Company) CameraWiki has two links with the VOSS brand name, one for Piesker and M42, the other Piesker and Exakta:
http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Exakta_lenses#Piesker
http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/42mm_screw_lenses#Piesker
The JUPLEN brand name is mentioned on the following MFLenses Topic, but no information about whether its was sold by Fujita directly or a lens distributor.
http://forum.mflenses.com/fujita-the-forgotten-maker-t22482,highlight,juplen.html
The other name brands that I've found for this lens are:
UNEEDA (followed by red P.C - no period after the C)
ACCURAR (followed by red P.C - no period after the C)
RENOIT ETOILE (a manufacturer which I've found nothing about using google) (followed by red P.C - no period after the C)
TAYLOR (followed by red C.)
I now see that Lightshow had already posted the links where I found the above brand names, the last link is in Japanese with English translation, is very informative and has photos of this lens by other makers.
I note that the 3 lenses I have a have a red H. C following the brand name.....unsure if this has a meaning regarding lens coating or other information.
Comments appreciated. _________________ MikeM

My copy is badged 'Gamma Terragon" similar to a post upthread, with the 'FT' serial prefix. I also have a Soligor Miranda 35/2.8 with the 'K' suffix (and had a Vemar version in the past), as well as an N.K.K Japan version which looks different to the ones pictured so far, but has been mentioned as the same lens optically I don't recall the serial number for that lens. The N.K.K version looks to (possibly) be a different company.
A picture of that lens is shown here http://forum.mflenses.com/nkk-tokyo-japan-polygon-wide-angle-lens-125-35mm-t45923.html
I don't know if my copy has 'Polygon' on the name ring, I'll have to check when I get back. |
