My CZJ lenses don't seem to figure in this list, Atilla. They all have 5-figure serial numbers.

I can't help in this case , I guess they are made after 1975 I suppose you have black MC lenses.

Yes, you're right. I just looked at my old zebra Tessar 2.8/50 - the number is 8,214,002

I asked the same question earlier. If your lens is the black MC version it was probably made after 1975 when they changed the numbering system.

Thanks for the info...At least now I know that my "Zebra" finish 180mm f2.8 "Olympic" Sonnar was built between 1970 and 1975...Pity you cant narrow that down to each year between 1970-1975.

Nice info! My Biotar f/2 58mm has the number 3332598. This places it in the 1949-1952 range, right? That's awesome, I didn't think it was that old. Are these older ones more desirable?

just got praktica lb with CZJ tessar on it with number 6762834, and decided to check out when it is made and found a type error in your list

What about the numbers greater than 10.000.000?

May I say my flektogon was produced in 1976 with the serial number 10.257.762? Very Happy

It is made in range of 1976-1989 not really interesting period , this is interesting only on rare items.
