I have, like almost all of us, some 135 mm lenses
But the 150 mm FL attracts me.
Have two options
1-S-M-C- takumar 150/4 (u$s 104)
2- Mamiya Sekor A 150/2,8 for 645 system (U$S 184)
AFAIK, both are good lenses.
what is the best option for you?
i need suggestions from you. |

I had Super and S-M-C Takumars. Compact, not much larger than 135/3.5 Takumars, giving similar excellent performance imho. Actually, all 70-150 zoom lenses are surprisingly good performers, even the very cheap third party ones - a 2x zoom ratio is the easiest to design and build.
The Olympus OM 70-150 I have is particularly good, hard to see a difference between it and the superb OM Zuikos 2.8/100 and 2.8/135. The Hexanon 70-150 is a great one too, only lacks a tiny bit of sharpness and contrast compared to the fantastic Hexanon 3.2/135.
I have a Tamron Adaptall 70-150 with OM mount in the original leather case I would part with for postage.
If you are dead set on a 150, a Bronica Zenzanon-S can be had cheap and will rival even a Zeiss T*, sadly mine needs repairing, but I continue to be impressed by the Zenzan-S 4.5/200 and 2.8/105.
Cheap option would be a Schneider Componon 150 or Rodenstock Rodagon 150, both are enlarger lenses and with the addition of a cheap M39 helicoid make extremely capable, sharp as hell taking lenses. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

Hmm, it is a little bit different from my personal experience. Neither Takumar 150mm/f4 and Topcor 135mm/3.5 have given me the "wow' when I mounted on a camera and see the photos taken with them. Not to say they are not good, but somehow don't standout. Just my 2c. |

I have an extreme fondness for the Schneider Componon 150mm enlarger/taking lens. designed to cover 4x5 its heavy (all chrome brass and glass), it lacks a helical, its slow only going to 5.6 but is remarkably good on the 43MP a7rii sensor. Also it does have a many blade (virtually round) aperture. With the Minolta auto bellows iii it goes from macro to infinity. It renders extremely well IMHO. My wife dubbed it "The Flower Lens"

Another option is to stretch your FL just a bit and go for the Nikkor 180 2.8 ED. Which is a fantastic lens. I also have a vintage Schneider 150mm 3.5 IIRC in exakta mount that I find underwhelming. Just really not that sharp. Occasionally you will find Piesker Tele Picon in 180mm as well, again not that sharp would be an excellent portrait lens though...
Piesker wide open at 5.5
If you are interested I will sell you a copy of the OLY 75-150 for 15 dollars plus shipping as I got a second copy in a lot of oly gear. _________________ photos are moments frozen in time |

Thanks for all of you.
In zooms, I had the Konica 75/150, the original of it, the Tokina made v version too, the Vivitar (Kiron) version too. The Canon nFD is the best for my taste (but too long).
In 135 lenses I had The Konica 135/3,2 and 135/2,5 versions the S-M-C 135/3,2, the Nikkor 135/3,5 Ai, etc. The best that I had, the tele elmar M 135/4.
Never had the 150 mm FL. And I read a lot of good things about the Takumar and of the Mamiya. So I want to know the opinions of the member of this forum. (the best for me). |

There's no doubt that the Mamiya will be the better lens on FF digital cameras. 184$ for the Sekor A 2.8/150mm is a really good price.
I have quite a few Mamiya Sekor C lenses and the 4/120mm Macro tested; the normal (80mm) and tele lenses are excellent on 24MP FF. The Sekor C 5.6/300mm (non ULD) e. g. has much less CAs than the Nikkor IF-ED 4.5/300mm.

The 180 mm is not a fl that I use naturally.

Are the zenzanon lenses so good?
I heard that the 80/2,8 for the bronica 6 x 6 os really good.
Do you agree? |

The Zenzanon-S are certainly that good, on my 24mp FF Sony a850 I really love them.
I haven't tried that 6x6 80 2.8 I'm afraid. I really love the Biometar 2.8/80, even the early single coated one I have makes amazing images on my a850, classic Zeiss pop with very smooth bokeh and critically sharp even wide open.
Zenzanon-S 4.5/200, a big heavy beast but a great lens, has the same 3d pop as a zeiss T* for a fraction the price..

From Argentina/Uruguay. South America.
If I bought it from other country, I have to pay a penality because I send u$S outside my country, So the lens could became excessively expensive. Also, the market is very small, so very few lenses in it.
Outcome, few lenses and expensive. Bad formula to buy lenses. |
