Won this today on ebay:

Hexanon lenses seem to go for pretty reasonable on ebay, and this model
SLR is one of Konica's better ones, and can be used with no battery.

total price with shipping:

I bought it for the lens alone, and is supposed to be one of the sharpest (at
least Japanese) lens for 35mm, ummm, according to this guy:

http://www.buhla.de/Foto/Konica/eT4Haupt.html

It's the pancake 40/1.8 AR Hexanon.

What DSLR do you use the Hexanon lenses on ?

That was a very short mount if I recall correctly.

Luis, they can be modified to fit Olympus DSLRs. But first, I'll try them on
the T4. Yes, reg distance is 40.5, if I recall.

Hi Bill,

Congrats on the Konica. I've been using Konica gear (TC-X body) for some time and do enjoy it a lot. I have the Pancake 40 (Yes it will cut your eyeballs), a Konica 28mm and a couple of Konishiroku lenses also.

You can get a M42-AR adapter so you can use all your M42 lenses on the Konica. Also Mamiya M42 screw mounts will work there. (Kind of rare but not expensive)

What kind of adapter does one use to mount the Konica lenses onto the OLY bodies, or do they fit straight out?

Thanks

Jules

I have one of my brother in law's T4s on loan, and yes, it's a nice camera. One day, once I figure out more shelf space Confused I'd like to get into the Konica system - the beauty of it is that among 35mm SLRs, it has the shortest register distance, and so provided you can find the adaptor, every lens will mount and get infinity focus!

Jules, I'll try to find the link on the mod. As I recall it was just a little filing
perhaps sawing with jeweler's sawframe to make it fit the Oly. If it's a
one way street to where I can't use them on the T4, I'll have to buy the
good lenses in 2's. Attila should have this link as well, I probably have it
bookmarked on my old computer, just hate to set it up again to find it.

Nesster, haven't received the T4 yet, but nice to hear it's a good camera!

Jules, thanks much about the M42>AR adapter. Since I just bought the TC
and T4, that would be a worthwhile enterprise.

Thanks again,

Bill

Bill, I think I have an extra one. I'll check when I get home this evening. If I do I'll let it go very inexpensively.

Two nice looking cameras, Bill. I didn't realise the Konica is the film equivalent of the digital Olympus, so far as register distance goes.
Interesting... Idea
Nah, I don't need another camera... must resist....

Congratulations!!!!!!!

You may use the greats hexanon lenses on your 4/3.

Recomended

Hexanon 1,8/85

Hexanon 1,8/28

Hexanon 1,7/50 (old non MC model is better)

Hexanon 2,8/35

The serie "hexa" isn't so better. The MC version of the hexanons are contrastiers, but if you like lines per mm., the non mc win.

Good luck.

Jules, I don't know why I thought there was filing and sawing involved, must
have got it confused with another mod. All this of course is reversable, if
ever you wanted to use them on Konica film bodies again. Did you click on
the dog portrait "Cilla"? That is one sharp pic at f1.8!

Also, Jules, I got my e300 for $205 + $10 shipping, and came with 512MB
CF card, 3 batteries, and a charger, plus software, manuals, etc, purdy
cheap.

I think you may have gotten that confused with the OLY>EOS lens conversion that does involve filing and sawing. This is great.

Yes I loved Cilla. My wife and I cracked up. What a great shot.

$205? Well that's almost within reason. Next time I get to Chattanooga I must visit and see the results.

Cheers

Jules
