I've been pretty sick the last few days but yesterday I managed to drag myself out of the house for a few hours

Well, it is lot of money and I'm sure I'll never have them. Let stay down-to-earth, I'll be very happy for 5D.

Me too, I am thinking to wait for 5D III and should take used 5D2 instead of used 5D.

Life isn't singular and as far as possible, I don't like having to choose between one or the other

So I got myself the 5D till the 5D2 becomes cheaper after the announcement of the 5d3 Laughing

I did sell 90% of my lens harem but I did keep the C/Y MM range 28 - 200mm and some Leica-R to exploit the sensor of the 5D Very Happy

@Teo: ce faci? Yes, all are shot f1.1 [I rarely shoot at another aperture with this lens]

I sometimes contemplate as to why that Leica combo is so damn expensive, but when I see this kind of images it's clear. Very Happy

I'm totally in love with this combo - I just love how small and unobtrusive the m9 is

People don't seem to mind a "boring old grandpa camera" [® ™ owned by my gf] taking a couple of pictures as opposed to the reactions of seeing a DSLR pointed at somebody

If only they had thought of backlit dials and a 'hide image' feature to the camera Rolling Eyes

Buy a Luigi case, it will hide the LCD if you leave it closed.

True that but in the real event that I end up in a serious situation where people would take the camera and flip through the images, it is a dead giveaway.

With most DSLR's you atleast have the choice to hide the image and hope whoever it might be is unaware of this setting

That aside, no backlit dials??? Cmon Leica, wtf Laughing

If you really ended up in such a situation, would you think that people who would get hold of your camera would stop because they don't see the photos? They would simply grab the card, and you would be lucky if they don't take the camera also, or damage it.

Yes you're right but that's a little too extreme for most situations and in such cases I think we're already talking stealth equipment and a few Mike Tysons hanging around with the photog

Hmmmm daytime, I get 10/10 right but night shots, I probably get around 8/10 - either due to slow shutter speeds/handshake or due to incorrect focussing ... wearing glasses doesn't make it much more difficult and I use an 0.85x magnifier which helps me compose better but focussing is much more difficult due to the 0.85x

I prefer the RF way of focussing than the TTL way of focussing - especially when its very very dark

For example:

This was shot at a friend's backyard at 23:57 hrs - f1.1, shutter probably at 1 or 2 don't rem

This guy has the 5D2 and his jaw dropped when I nailed the shot on 2nd try

Nothing beats rf focus accuracy. Not split screen, Af, fd... Nothing.
Properly adjusted a coupled rangefinders will be spot on everytime.
