Fantastic shots! Well, spending that money for the lens and camera... you deserve it.

Very nice shots, made by your eye! With a little help from great tools.

Great stuffs, Hari.

Wow, you hit rate is fantastic - 10/10 in the morning and 8/10 at night. My night hit rate is way less than 50%. I just when to check my eyes today, maybe it is because of my spectacles.

Doubt that I will ever own a Leica M or any M lens. Way beyond my reach. Just out of curiosity. Does anyone know if the Nokton 1.1 shows equally astonish photos on film? Trying to figure out if this is the M9 body that makes it great. Also surprising to find the noise level in your rose photo is not as bad as I thought.

Hari, is there a special post processing you do to your image? Can you only get the 3d effect using a super big aperture like the nokton 1.1?would a nokton 1.4 be able to produce a 3d effect like this?

Thanks and awesome photos btw.I joined this forum mainly after seeing the photos you shared on this thread.

hey there!

i haven't used the nokton 35mm/40mm f1.4 so i don't know how well it renders but there are more factors to 3d-ness than only a big aperture

angle of framing, light, probably a larger sensor, shadows and of course a larger aperture

- thank you very much and welcome to the forum! i'm sure you will enjoy your stay here as the knowledge in these pages is immense and there are many helping hands if you're looking for something

Hari,

Some really great photos here! You've got some pretty awesome gear. But I've seen people with awesome gear take ordinary photos, so hats off for taking some really good photos seen here and on Flickr.

After looking at these shots I just looked up the nokton 1.1 (the newer version) and it somehow doesn't rate highly at all! Here a review by Ken: http://kenrockwell.com/voigtlander/50mm-f1.htm.

thanks mate!

there are people who review equipment without posting any pictures of the shots they took during the review. i don't pixel peep so i'd rather judge equipment by what i see and not by what some random "pro" had to say

the nokton 50/1.1 is a fantastic performer. i think all voigtlander lenses are fantastic value for the money!

Bringing up the old thread again.

Bokeh with the Nokton seems to be a "mixed bag", dont you think?
