I think the price is reasonable, and it's hard to get this focal length cheaper. However, assuming the first lens in OP is the one you want to buy, the condition of the front element is suspect. It could be fungus or cleaning marks. Neither is the reason not to buy, my lens has cleaning marks, but appears decent, just make sure you know what exactly you are buying. _________________ Many lenses and some film bodies for sale here: http://forum.mflenses.com/canon-fd-minolta-md-c-mounts-m42-pentax-and-more-t50465.html

I took it for a short walk. The lens is upgraded from "usable" to "very usable" . Get it. One of the benefits is that it has a zillion blades, so bokeh looks nice at any aperture. All the images below were shot in the f2.8-f5.6 aperture range on NEX-5.

The 200/4.5 was a completely different lens, made by a different manufacturer Soligor lenses vary immensely. _________________ Graham - Moderator

Thanks Pancolart. To be honest, I am myself surprised how well the shots turned out - my lens is an ugly duckling, beat up: cleaning marks, had a wobbly rear element before I tightened it, IIRC it also had starting fungus that thankfully wiped clean. I strongly suspect that it was fished out of a dumpster. No matter, it shoots great and not just close-up. Unfortunately landscapes where I live are a bit boring, I tried a couple of infinity shots, the result is technically fine, just not very interesting.
raay04, looking forward to your shots! _________________ Many lenses and some film bodies for sale here: http://forum.mflenses.com/canon-fd-minolta-md-c-mounts-m42-pentax-and-more-t50465.html
