How would you know that? Why not Adapt-a-matic? _________________ Regards,

I knew it was an adaptall- the adaptamatic clearly looks different. . Error on my part on posting name.

Yes, but you hadn't provided a picture of the lens. I guess I'm missing something, so never mind. _________________ Regards,

Good question, dimitrygo. in fact, right after seeing this thread I was looking for pictures to compare, but couldn't find any where I knew the same apertures were used in the same lighting, so no fair comparison can be done until I get out for that very purpose. I indicated when I got the Pentor that I'd want to compare it to my two 105mm lenses; the Tamron and the Komura. I'll try to get that done tomorrow or over the weekend. My sense is that the Pentor will outperform the others, but I have been wrong before. This Pentor just impresses me as being very sharp and very good at controlling CA. _________________ Regards,

What would be a fair price for a mint copy of this lens?
Since this is adapt-a-matic rather than adaptall-2, do I need a different mount that adaptall-2? |

If it's actually Adaptall - 1, as far as I know the Adaptall-2 mounts fit, but might not give full functionality. I don't have any AD-1 lenses to check what will and won't work.
Several people have said AD-2 mounts fit AD-1 lenses. _________________ Dave - Moderator

Are you sure? I don't recall a 105mm in the Adaptamatic range . . . but maybe my memory's fading _________________ Stephen
