Gotta say I am not very fond of this time of the day. Everything is too bright. The background is not very interesting, if at all, either. Still you managed to get a nicely focused pictured with good detail. _________________ Body: Fujifilm X-E1

But rightly because of the absence of visible shadows, the image looks painting-like, which I think is appropriate and very effective!
Only thing: I would have removed, or bent, those two vertical blades of grass, which do hurt the composition. _________________ Orio, Administrator

I like your poppies ,Kris !
Of course Orio is right about the grass . Excellent results from the Lubitel 2 ,I am really envious of you that you still have a good lab to process the film . Great amazing colors and splendid sharpness ! Perfect exposure too.(what meter did you used?) I think you gave me an itch that I have to cure ! Is it cheap to process a roll of MF ? _________________ Cheers , Teo

Perhaps this one is better?
My lab charges about the same for a 120 roll as for a 135mm roll, so per image that is about three times more expensive. I just have to be more circumspect when shooting!
I've forgotten the make of my meter. I'll go find it in a bit and let you know. Plenty of good meters around though.

This would probably work in B&W too with a mild red filter effect. _________________ Casual attendance these days |

I prefer the first one and for me, this time of day is fine, as Orio says, it has a painterly look. I also don't mine the grass, it doesn't detract for me. Excellent work Kris.
I wish my Lubitel 166U had a lens like this Lubitel 2 of yours does, mine was only sharp in the centre with really bad edges. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |
