Hi!
Very nice glass, depends on copy but if you are lucky it can be real bargain for nex or m4/3
Few pics, all low-light condition except this with the plant:
(bigger and more on my flickr)

Excellent test shots.
I too recieved mu Jupiter 8 only recently. Sadly it was very dirty and had loose paint inside.
I had it cleaned and serviced, shot with it on the w/e and wow! What amazing glass! Very Happy

Karabud, very nice! Last one is beautiful- so beautiful that I want this lens.

Are there any "best" variations? They seem very affordable.

There are many versions of this lens. At least a Silver Jupiter 8, Black Jupiter 8, 8M and MC Jupiter? And all in different mounts.
Is there a real diiference between them or is it like with Helios 44?

I've also seen a 53mm F2 Jupiter 8 - is it identical with the 50/2

Agreed, nice job Karabud! So an Exacta to EOS adapter doesn't work?

These pics are looking great

I would love to see this lens in a direct comparision test wide open and stopped down to F5.6 to a more modern lens like any Minolta MD 50mm, Canon FD 50mm, or something similar. I had some bad M39 Industars so I went careful with Rangefinder-Russians.

Exakta?? This lens is only avaible for Contax- and Leica M39 mount as far as I know
It won't work on any actual Canon DSLRs without serious modifications.

Or did I miss something?

Mark you can only use it in EOS for macro works. simple M39 adapter for EOS works.

just tested my jupiter3 which has same mount as J8, with EOS-NEX + M39-EOS, it give close focus less than 20cm, So it must be same case in EOS. and I'm pleased with the result. I forgot where my J8 is..

Compared to Minolta 45/2 wide open only, here in very poor light.

try to get one with the serial 57xxxx or lesser.

you're basically buying a Carl Zeiss sonar 50mm f2, most possibly with zeiss glass and parts - assembled in russia and rebranded as jupiter 8

Hari, thanks very much for that! I had no idea that they used Zeiss glass.
Attila, I can't wait to try one! Thanks!

Wondering what focus range I can get with M39 adapter on Canon 60D. I just want to do moderate macro.

My guess around 15-30cm I did mount on Nikon many years before, I remember for this one.

Thanks, Attila! I think that will work for me.
