Hi everybody.
Do you know wether the Nikkor 55mm f:1.2 SC hits the mirror of 5D MkII ?
Thanks in advance for the answer.

Thank you very much Orio.
Since 2007 the price surely has grown.
What's your opinion of a normal price for this lens ? _________________ Olivier - Moderator

I paid 300 Euros for mine, but not on Ebay, I bought it at a used camera fair.
Do you know the lens already?
Check my samples, wide open the spherical aberration produces visible glow, but the lens is very sharp even at full aperture.
Glow can be partially attenuated with a moderate use of "Clarity" slider in Lightroom/Camera Raw.
But I usually keep it unaltered because I like the effect, it can be great for female portraits.
Check my samples, there are several 100% crops:

Yes, I saw your middle age topic and pictures pleased me very much. They're very good.
So, the SC version is the same as yours. That's great.
I'm on a 1.2/55mm SC n°266234 and could have it at 250€.
I'm waiting for seller's answers concerning the optical and mechanical condition (fungus, haze, cleaning marks, soft rings etc...). _________________ Olivier - Moderator

Your version should be actually better, because mine (according to serial number) is partially multicoated
(i.e. some elements are multicoated while others are single coated)
whereas your version is fully multicoated.
Full multicoating will help you with flares, but I'd recommend the use of a lens hood anyway.
Instead, the diffuse glow that happens wide open is caused by the residual spherical aberration, and multicoating
will not help with that. It's a feature of the lens, once you know it you can use it to your advantage
(for female portraits, for instance), or just avoid it by stopping a bit down.
The price of 250 Euros is surely a good price, so I'd say go for it if the condition of the lens is good. _________________ Orio, Administrator

Thank you Orio for these additional comments.
I'll go for it if its condition is good.
If I do so, I'll come back in this topic to give feedback. _________________ Olivier - Moderator
