What an amazing image, Orio!!

The low contrast suits the subject very well. And Monica's gesture is well captured and preserved in this image.
I like it a lot!

The lens is tricky to use outside, because the absence of the coating makes it very sensible to any strong light source.
As a result, almost any shot takes on a dreamy character, even with the iris stopped down,
as you can see from this image I took today:



The lens itself is well corrected, and the spherical aberration is minimal.
The following image is a 100% crop of the previous and shows that the glass resolves quite much detail
(see the windows at the bottom)
but the lack of coating makes the contrast decrease dramatically and gives the image
an appearance of unsharpness:

If you want to you can easily tune the low contrast with levels in PS.
That is why I think that it's no problem any more today when shooting digitally.

Love the portrait, the lighting and tones. Needs to be framed and hung on a wall!

Interesting outside shots Orio, thanks for taking the time to share them!

The lens seems to be a sound performer. Was it already hazy that day?

Thanks for the outside shots Orio, clearly that lens w/o coating exhibits loss of contrast in high illumination situations due to the "bouncing" reflected light (about 4% per glass surface) inside the lens. Still quite sharp.
