Had some fun tonight with steel wool and a whisk. Long exposure at F8, ISO 100. Next time i need to try it earlier to get some background in Idea

How much exposure did you used? I have tried this with a light pen with mediocre results, needs practice but I don't know what I did wrong.

This one looks nice but you right, without a background to give it a bit more context it almost looks like a photoshop work, too abstract.

Exposure time was 25 seconds but steel wool stopped burning after 15-20 seconds. Next time I'll try somewhere at the end of golden hour.

How exactly did you do this?

Impressive. Background would help. Would love to see some more.

Thx guys.

@Roman: i got some fine steel wool, stuffed it inside a kitchen whisk, added some rope to whisk so I could swing it around. I was dressed in black so that I'm not visible on the picture. Can be dangerous with sparks flying around so some cap or hat is wise to wear to protect hair. Also you have to be careful not to cause some fire around you. Wink

Edit: i fired up steel wool with a 9V battery. You can use lighter aswell.

Great idea for a photo. And the result came out quite spectacular.
Must be tested.
