Red Reef is a bedrock outcropping on the Skokomish River. The color is
from the Iron and Iron Oxides in the rock. This was a cold day, as the
bit of snow can attest.

These flower petals are so constantly soaked with dew that the water gets
inside the petals, yet the outside fibers retain their shell, so the petals
become little tanks of water.
Semi-Transparent Petals

On the theme of "transparency", here is a semi-transparent little
waterfall.

Yes, I wonder what went wrong with the b&w.

I especially love the semi-transparent petals... how did you get so close - extension tube?

Hey Nesster! The b&w is okay if you click on it to fit the screen. It looks
like the sharpness resolves back to its original state.

I used the Pentax-A 120 Macro on the flower petals. It goes down to 1:1,
but this was about 6:1. In actuality, I think at 1:1 I could get just one
petal group into the frame.

Stunning Provia images as always from you! I am not sure scanning was faulty, I vote for develop instead.

Beautiful as always from you Larry. Clicking on them does indeed make a difference.

How does a 70mm lense work on that camera? I'm considering getting one. Also a 120mm f4 macro.

I like the 1st one best Larry, but snow? Brrrrrr! We've been enjoying a dry, hot spring over here.

THANKS all of you! I'm glad the images were appealing enough to
elicit comments. I'm hoping to get out tomorrow since it will continue to
be sunshine and warmer. It's about time we got some decent weather. Very Happy
