Here is anonther gem for you...
Here are the technical details. Its an enhanced Ultron type...
Similiar to the Glatzel Planar, 7 Elements in 6 Groups and shares the lens scheme also with the Yashika ML 1.4/50mm...
Here are some quickn dirty shoots after receiving the lens in Mint condition.
First of all.. nearfield bokeh and color rendering.
The lens highlights in the OOF Area..
This seemed to be a fine lens, which is easy to handle on a 5D MKII. No Problems with mirror issue, sharp from edge to edge and surprisingly very low amount of "glowing and PF effects."
Metallic surface in heavy sunlight wide open at 1.2 !!
The next days i will show some more pics taken with this rar and expensiv lens.

yes, as i stated, this is an enhenced Ultron type.
Lots of fast lenses 7/6 elements/groups share this formula. You can find this also in the Planar 1.4/50, Yashica ML 1.4/50mm, Canon FD 1.4/50mm......
some weeks ago i did a test with the SMC Pentax 1.2/50mm on a 5D MKII
So this Yashica ML has nearly the same "fingerprint".. but in my eyes its better in terms of glowing and purple fringing at 1.2.
Yashica at 1.2...
Crop from SMC Pentax 1.2/50mm..
The Yashica ML seemed to have a better Coating... but i will report further and do a comparison Yashica ML 1.2/55mm SSC, Tomioka/Yashinon 1.2/55, Canon FD 1.2/55mm SSC and the Yashica ML 1.2/55mm in the next days.
Cheers

Welcome.
Do you see any scratch on your mirror box? If the lens works without an adaptor, it is likely the aperture lever hits the mirror box when you change the aperture from F1.4 to F1.2. _________________ https://lensfever.com/
