Good subjects can help a lot to any lenses, I like your photos pretty much Laughing This lens has very mixed quality, a good one can be excellent other ones can be average or crap.

Very nice pics.

Images with pentacon's look. I find the rendering very similar, in color and resolution way than the 1,8/50 MC has. Neutral is the key.

I like the colors but not so much the resolution power.

I never could find a good 2,8/29 copy. Anyway perhaps it's only me, than don't like the 28/35 range. I prefer the 17/24.

But you have find a very good copy. Congrats.

Rino.

Before i heard something that 29 2.8 pentacon is not a good lens..
İ did not touch my nice lens for one year than i wanted to test 28mm lenses first i tried 28 2.8 mc Rexagon (very sharp, very useable, vivid colors...)than this german diamond 29 2.8 pentacon multi coating .İ am very happy with them..

I like the colours and rendering - very natural.

My only negative comment would be the bokeh in number 3 - it is very busy and distracting in my opinion.

Otherwise excellent.

Very nice samples!

I too like this lens because of it's colour rendering mostly (not the sharpest lens wide open...) and it really deosn't deserve the notoriety it's getting.
Sure there may be some bad copies but it is generally a very nice lens to own and use.

I used to use this 29 a lot, now I have all three versions: the original "zebra", the fluted focussing ring, and the checkerboard ring "MC", all are good.

I forgot, when I had the copies of the lens, to do a CA test of them.

I read here that the meyer lenses are very well corrected for CA.

Excellent photos. I much like the black and white shot of the fellows in the rain, and your portraits. You must be a likeable fellow to get so close with a 28 ... Very Happy

Really surprised by the quality of the pictures with the 29mm. I think I will test mine again, however I can hardly belief that such sharp results are possible with it.
Nice pictures anyhow, great B&W.

This Pentacon is the best bokeh maker of all my 28mm on a 4/3 ;
On my sample, it's very difficult to get a correct focus wide open ; Much more difficult than with a 28/2 (or any other 28/2.8 of course) ; I don't know why. But if I succeed, once again, great bokeh ! (and sharp result)
