No FF in Pentax dslr products range but now a digital 40MPixels medium format.

It's coming to europe for 10.000 € naked, 11.000 € with a 2.8/55mm

I read a review in the french magazine 'réponse photo" and the journalist was very enthousiastic about the Image Quality. He is fond of medium format and knows it well. He says that he retrieves his old sensations again with this camera and that the image is very very good. It's a long time since he shivered when discovering his pictures and here it was the case. He also says that this is not a fast camera and says he enjoyed coming back to "slow photography", when you take time for building your composition and frame.

It's a big amount of money and I won't buy it.
But I'm sure it will have big interest for many people.

I'll buy 2 of these at that price. I'll have a handy backup then. Laughing

I read a first "test" in a German magazine and the guy there was amazed by the 645D. A digital medium format camera with the handling of a pro-DSLR and with amazing IQ.
If there only wasn't the price tag!

Also, the 645D has the best AF in the Medium Format field, bar none.

Oooppsss... this is the MFlenses forum! Embarassed

However, I\m glad that I have several 645 lenses, including the 35mm (the A, not the FA versions).

Will they make it in a range of funky colours like the KX? lol

Here: "Preorder: 9999,90€. The final price will be set later." Smile

I LOATHE the expression 'pre-order' you either order something (albeit sometimes before it is available / deliverable) or you don't!

it's like the fatuous 'we are now pre-boarding airmiles executive card / fly card, up-your-asscard holders' one hears at airports in the USA.

EVERYTHING in your life up until you enter the plane is 'pre-boarding'... lol

The USA LOVES this artificial segmentation of the language.. which just makes for meaningless drivel not for accuracy!

That's `American English' for you Doug! Laughing

The US expression that makes me laugh is `fixing dinner'. How did it break? Laughing

My phrase is a translation but I think it is pretty much right?

More problematic is that I can't find anywhere from the webshop's page what this exactly means: a) do you just get the item before others or b) you can cancel the order if the price is wrong. Confused

EDIT: it can't be a) because then it would be just an order but delivery time unknown .. asked the shop

I would say that a preorder means that it is reserved and that we'll have the item before those who didn't preorder.

Ha ha ha

And there's something about 'chitlins' (that's how they pronounce the word here) that strikes dread for some reason? lol

Then say 'reserved'.. though I am unsure how one would transfer that logic to 'pre boarding' lol

I have no idea why Americans do this - there's a perfectly good word or expression already yet they feel impelled to make up another one, which is either more ambiguous or else downright daft. 'This coming seven-day' for next week, or 'through the coming night-time hours' for tonight spring to mind!

Arghhhhhhh!

Are American TV folk paid by how much their mouths move, rather than how much their minds are exercised?

If it's broken it needs repairing, not fixing. To fix something you would use nails or screws (or fixer!) Smile

Very true, Peter. But this example shows us how superficial many people deal with language. I have heard quite a few people ask: "It's broken. Can you fix it?" And although, the answer perhaps should have been: "Then I would break it even more", they understood what was meant.
For the sake of communication we are willing to accept a certain semantic "tolerance". Wink

I'm not american, nor english, so I don't have to say that... Laughing

and... this Pentax 645D seems to be a good lens for portrait, still life and landscape photography. Wink
